Wish I was closer to you so I could buy you a beer or 2 (ha ha) I have checked pin 20 on both the harness & the car side, the harness has a brown wire going to pin 20... however on the car side pin 20 is empty no wire or terminal. So if I understand you correct...

Hi Guys, I am in the process of transplanting a 325i M20 engine to replace my worn out 318i M40 engine. I was told that it was possible (but not preferd) to use my origional 240 gearbox and was hoping someone might be able to help me with any information on the mods that I need to do to make it work...
