Re: Oil spewing and high pressure?
So remove the rocker cover of the engine block to determine if there's any 'sludge' undernearth? the person who test drove pressumed it was from the connection of the rocker cover was the air filter was taken off and the oil landed all the way onto the fuse box cover.. he also said this is likely to...

Re: My new 316!
Hello mate, any pipes i should be looking at? the air filter is off and i made sure the majority of the oil was cleaned. i then took it for a 2 minute spin to determine where how much oil was leaking and were is was, it ended up being on the passenger side of the car with some on the fuse box cover ...

Re: My new 316!
Alright lads, i haven't been driving the e30 much lately but there has been a persistant oil leak/spew from the carb.. I had a lad test drive it today and he said there is way too much pressure and the oil is coming from an outlet on the engine that the air filter connects to? He said it was a prett...

Tips for removing stubborn wheel nuts?
Trying to change the wheels over on my 316 but i have only been able to change 2, the 2 wheels on the passenger side are really stubborn to remove! I haven't got an airgun or anything like that so im just using the tool and a bit of strength but even putting all of my weight on the nut isn't budging...

Re: My new 316!
Well the idling actually got higher, so does that make an overly tight throttle cable more likely? when i first started the car it was fine, the high-idle only started to occur after a bit of driving so the licking sticking in the same position seems likely?

Re: My new 316!
The car was fine when i drove it to work this morning in terms of the starting problem, maybe its just picky! haha. A weird problem i encountered though was the engine constantly being revved (asif the pedal was slightly stuck) when i shut the engine down i continued to rattle for a while and made a...

Re: My new 316!
Have your tappets/timing and fuel mixture been adjusted and set by somebody who knows what they are doing ? Playing with the carburettor is pointless without all the basics being correct. Ask Euan ! :( Yeah the old guy who fitted the carb knows what he is doing, he put it on the rolling road to ens...

Re: My new 316!
Thats what i mean, its a 10-15 minute drive to the petrol station, so the car should start up straight away but it doesn't, maybe the carb needs cleaning?

Re: My new 316!
Thats exactly what i have avoided.. surely after stopped for 5 minutes the engine should start up straight away without any difference in choke etc as the engine temperature wouldn't of changed too much?

Re: My new 316!
I had a little look and the plastic plate where that choke cable is attached can be removed, i did this and the majority of the plastic is reinforced with that thick foam, the only gap to drill a hole is the already existing one that the plate bolts on? is this the best place to put the cable? Also ...

thanks bud, i really couldn't figure out what was causing it to be so high until the mentioned the spacer, i thought it was a necessity.

The black thing inbetween the carb and the manifold? is it thicker then normal?
I bought this second hand so no idea why someone would have a large spacer that would cause the original filter not to fit?
