One thing Ive learned after restoring the iS: a garage is NEVER big enough!

And the thing Ive learned restoring the M3: your pockets are NEVER deep enough...

Not a big deal really. But Brian is right - more is surely hidden. That being said, tackle the rust that affects the structural integrity of the car first.

Haven't been on the site for a couple of years too.. shame on me!! Been busy with my e30's (summertime only unfortunately). Both the 318iS and the M3 are running great. Started setting money aside for an eventual overhaul of the M3 at some point... Was in London a few times this month and one thing ...

Ive bought 100's and 100's of parts. Only 2 off of ebay. The rest directly from BMW or reputable sources like ECS Tuning. Might pay a bit more than some chinese part but well worth it.

Car is running awesome. I spend my time swapping between the M3 and the iS. Love them both.

So here is a quick rundown of a valve job on the s14. Its actually a gap check for the shims.. Be careful.. regular e30 ducts will not fit the m3.. M3 ducts are wider and narrower...

They will set you back over 350£.

For example: bought three replacement coolant hoses. First was 40$, next was 60$ and the smallest was 170$. No logic to it and no choice either as they are specific to the m3. Three little hoses, 270$ or about

Maybe - but I doubt it would cheaper. When it comes to the S14, Ive accepted that things will get expensive. This is not hugely expensive, just an unexpected expense. Thats why Im only doing a few odds and ends - I dont want things spiraling out of control... again... hehe...

No, it was very straightforward. Trickiest part was removing the radiator in the front grill. Had to remove the fan first and then shimmy the rad out. Not sure why there would be issues with heating as they are two separate systems. Not an issue for me as it's a summer car only and it has heated sea...

They are in the garage. Parked. Waiting for f*ing spring!!

Not exactly a "minor resto" like the iS was but slowly getting started on the M3! Finally decided to completely remove the AC as it was all rusted and the compressor and fan were both shot. Honestly about 25kg of crap removed! Not too hard to do but removing the electric fan and radiator was tricky....

There's still a meter of snow here....

Another 3 weeks at least before the cars see daylight...

Owning an e30 in Canada is all about longing....

Dont be that guy that puts ebay sh*te on his car... get the real deal - it will only look the way it should: original.
