Hub modification?
Can someone point me in the right direction on hub modification to increase lock on my e30?
What else is needed to be modified in order to run 'em?
People keep saying other things need changing but they don't know what...

Cheers for that I'm most prob gonna go for them.
Save me saving even more now; anyone know who does finance on coilovers?
Driftworks do and so do Demon Tweeks but Driftworks don't sell e30 products and Demon Tweeks only offer H&R and KW kits?
Cheers

Cheers for that mate.
Ideally I wasn't gonna spend that much but if they are much better then say K Sport's, FK's at £450ish then I may look into them more

Re: New member's e30 drifter!
why dont people stick to learning to drift in a battered old Ford Sierra, dont get me wrong i quite like the concept of drifting but ruining a perfectly good car it just crazy Because a E30 is such a better car to use for drifting then a sierra. More part availability, spare parts are easy to come ...

Re: New member's e30 drifter!
Yeah my chassis underneath and in the bay is mint, no significant rust issue.
Id love a mk1 escort!
As for them been too pricey; I know 2 lads that drift the HELL outta a mk1 and a mk2, the mk2's running just over 550bhp and the mk1 is a Burton 2.0ltr Pinto on t/b's

Re: New member's e30 drifter!
In all honesty, I have found the n/a engine really good to get the basics and learning how to make it work without the use of boost. I drove my friends 200sx and was MUCH easier to drift, but, have to keep it on boost to drift and I found it hard to straighten up without snatching viciously. I had ...

why dont people stick to learning to drift in a battered old Ford Sierra, dont get me wrong i quite like the concept of drifting but ruining a perfectly good car it just crazy The main reason is because it can drift and drifts well. It stands out as not many people drift e30's so it looks cool IMO.

Re: New member's e30 drifter!
Ah awesome advice there mate! I'll get into looking at them then I think. I used Jom 1s on my old e36 and within a few months of abuse on the road they ended up leaking fluids. As with 'proper coilovers' do they fit in the same place or are the needed to have special fabrication done to the chassis ...

Re: New member's e30 drifter!
Cheers for that. See I've been told that coilovers themselves don't make much difference from a set of K Sport's at £560 all the way upto HSD's Mono's or Gaz Golds at £900+. I kept hearing its the adjustable top mounts and a good set up, do these factors make much difference or is it actually the co...

Already signed upto it
.
It's not on a budget as of such.
I can't justify spending £600+ on a set of coilovers for me to write it off, so until I'm a competent drifter I'll be getting my own custom made coilovers cost less then £200

Re: New member's e30 drifter!
It's drift damage, it's all part of the learning curve.
Once I'm able to do it to a good level then she will get repaired with new wings and that but in the mean time, it's pointless even pulling the dents out as it is more then likely going to happen again sooner or later

Re: New member's e30 drifter!
Ain't updated this lately so I thought I'd put some of the progress and changes what's taken place. Done my 1st drift weekend the start of last month at Birmingham Wheels and I must say, drifting is harder then I 1st thought. Loaded the e30 up with tyres and found out I could get 12 wheels and tyres...

Ill have a look now.
I was just in debate as people saying its thousands of pounds to do it properly and beens it's just a drifter at the moment and it not last.

That's what mine is on. It maybe a numerous of things then that could be leading to it. Re: M20b25 N/A vs Turbo
Any idea what sort of power you'll push out of an n/a?
What I mean is for example...
Turbo'ing a m20 to 300bhp reliable- £4,000
Modified m20 n/a to 230bhp- £2,000.
For the extra 70 horses id rather save the £2k and go for either HSD MonoPro coil overs for instance.

Re: M20b25 N/A vs Turbo
Oh sorry my mistake. I was told it was the m47 which is why I didn't understand where I'd get the extra power from. The m21 crank conversion then, is it a worth while modification or from the upgrades you gain and the cost of it not worth it in people's opinions? Ah I wasn't aware that the m20's wer...

M20b25 N/A vs Turbo
Been looking into upgrading my original m20. It's got a few bits done already and now I'm starting to look at the internal side of things. I was told the m47 diesel crank is a good swap to help develop power. For the pound/ power ratio would this be beneficial or am I wasting money on trying to hike...

Diff- 320 welded
Cup holders was an optional extra, it does come with a warming of beheading though as the holder is perfectly in line with the jaw
