For stoping viruses and spy/ad/malware, you want to get a copy of Kaspersky (www.kaspersky.co.uk) - I've never come across a package that works better but uses as little system resources!

Well in the 318iS with the 4 pot engine of correctness I average 34.9 mpg normally. Thats around 350 miles to a tank. Although petrol is now 91.9p a litre! That's just 95 RON!!!! Used to get 22mpg when toodling through Reading every day on my commute! And this is not with a light right foot might I ...

Only had the beast for 6 months, no idea if it was done before I got it! It was meant to have had a rebuild at 90k... Done 146k now. It rattles, and cos the engine sits quite far back it's ALL at the front were the ancillary bits seem to be! Edit: why is the E36 M3 jobbie any better? I've been quote...

Timing Chain Tensioner
How would I tell if this is on it way out on my M42 engined 318iS?
It definately has the tappet sound, which is nearly always around whenat idling speed, and seems to smooth out at speed.
Is it a pain to do DIY if so, or cheap enough to get a pro to do??

My fuses, my FUSES!! AGH!
After the schlep to Scotland this weekend the 7.5 A fuse for instruments (service indicator, warning lights, temp and fuel gauge etc) just keeps on popping. Tried emergency fix with (I know I should't have but 7.5A are hard to find in petrol stations) 10A fuse, and that blew too. Gone through 3 more...

What do I need to do before a 1000 mile journey???
Well, I'm heading upto Scotland next week to a) Goto a mates wedding and b) pick up the missus as she's moving down here before teh wedding. So, 400 odd miles each way, plus a fair few hundred whilst up there I'd imagine. It's just had it's oil changed, new front tyres and pads. What should I do to ...

sort out my paintwork on the cheap?? REAL cheap! Thanks to the bluntest nose of any car I've ever had my 318iS looks like its got acne scarring! I tried the old Halfrauds paint-chip painter stuff, but some nonce labelled the undercoat as top coat, and visa-versa, no now Alpine White has some ...
