E30 Zone

ok fellers need some help had a few e30 now on to building an e type jag some bits like gearbox are hard to find and crap,i have been told the getrag 265 with marry plat fits can any one help in this .ie, does it do i use bm flywheel and clutch no one in jaguar forums talks right to purists any help...

just been at it again if you take of one injecter plug any one it starts,its as if earth is not strong enough ,so is it safe without causing damage to anything ,to connect in to red and white before all injectors and put to earth

35 pin motronic ,at the injecter plug red and white wire if I earth this she runs spot on ,so I think its an earth problem ,but what to do ,do I re earth at pin 35 as you say or can I earth on to plug with red and white wire,this as been an on going thing until its finally not starting its as if ear...

325i ,1987 high comp engine in 87 18i se ,swaped a while back ,now wont start its down to earth problem on injectors how can I improve this ,I have cleaned and added another earth ,but if I pull a plug on injectors and earth pin out she fires strait up,,,,,help,,,please

thanks for that I had my father in law over car electrician clever man ,he went through what you have said .but how he solved it was checked and cleaned all earths and still no go so put an extra earth on from battery to inlet manifold ,bang she fires strait up so breaking down somewhere ,many thank...

can you by pass blue or brown plug to see if sencer is broke it seems it tries hard to start if light is connected to plug on injecter so something is saying no the light is bright so power to injectors is strong am I right in thinking it could be sencer or am I just barking mad

this is a preface engine loom 325i high comp 1986,put into a 89facelift coup

if I take first plug off of injecter put a light in one of wires other to earth it will try to fire put in other wire nothing theres a fault but I don't know where to go from here,need help brain drain here

so where do I go from here ,I need help its seems a fault on cold start although engine was hot and would not start ,where do I test or how to check injecter electrical probs does the flashing light on plug tell you anything

ok I thought a lot about injectors and thought to try more on lecy side ,so I pulled first plug on injecter then connected a light to see if it would pulse yes it did then tried to fire, put plug back on and away she went once turned off it tries to fire but no luck ,itried to find 191 plug but cant...

I checked power at the plug of injectors and put a new pump on this morning it was bone dry at ioi plug and dme I looked before it went back in garage last night.i will change filter tomorrow and give it a crank to see if its that ,if not should I pull all injectors out and clean?

it ran and reved up nice but a cow to start if not started for a few days it seems fuel starved or a prob getting there ..there is fuel to the injectors and live power to ,,, but plugs are dry I just put a full can of cleaner till it ran flat did not start once there was loads of power in engine and...

I tried with brake cleaner earlier and nothing what do you think,, its agro to pull injectors out ,but if its the last straw

yep last week running sweet as put it outside for a few days to change engine in another e30 and now wont start but it as allways took a good few cranks over to start if left a while so I put a new pump on this morning and checked spark air and fuel I think it may be injectors ?

ok just checked plugs going to injectors both reading power ,I think this is red and white in which to check. ,this is an 86 high compression 325i in a 89 e30 coup

the plugs are dry will just check power on red and whites

i have tried the fuel pump to rail and loads off fuel also spark at plugs ,so I think it may be at injectors or rail but what or where to check now,

if I put fuel line from filter to regulator ,its a no go,,but if I connect from filter to fuel rail she runs after a while it seems fuel drops back it then needs cranking a bit is there a fuel layout for a high compression pre face ,its now in a face lift 89

no fuel coming through fuel regulator ,at end of rail ,25i 86 high comp engine ,can you swap a regulator off 18i 1989,or can it be cleaned out

rev gauge not working as checked from 101 plug, no 6 as black wire, but other side of plug to engine no wire to pick up from,nothing on the other side of 6, where on engine does rev wire come from to connect to no 6 black wire ,hope you can understand this,,,help its driving me nuts

yep went through that but it did not help.

ok changed battery board over from one that was ok,reving and working ,pluged into mine and nothing only when you switch off it flickers.help brian

rev gauge not working any idears

got no rev gauge,and no heater blower,if ignition is on 2nd click got blower but as you turn on to ignition 3rd click blower goes off.this car is a 18i auto coup g reg with a 1986 ,25i preface high comp engine, with a manual gearbox

you have a plug that comes through the rubber gater of gearselecter ,is there a plug there that it goes to or do I have to wire it up to something
