Re: Removing paint from Tech 1 spoiler

Re: central unlocking
thanks brian.. it does have aftermarket alarm, so that could be the problem.. still does it when i lock it with key without setting alarm though, so i took it to be a CL problem.. i'l try the motor 1st.

Re: 318 IS/I M40/42 MPG and running costs
i agree with the above points, so i'l correct myself.. fuel economy will not only depend on how you drive, but what type of roads you drive on!

Re: 318 IS/I M40/42 MPG and running costs
as iceox says, it's how you drive it.. i don't find the is to be much better on fuel than the 325.. 26/27mpg compared to 22/23mpg.. but i am on twisty B roads 90% of the time!.. i'm sure i could get more mpg if i tried though.

Re: Battery draining....
i had the same problem a few years back, eventually took it to an auto electrician.. he replaced a corroded fusible link in the boot near the battery & all was well. Whatever was wrong with your car, a corroded fusible link did not cause a battery drain! ok, but never had the problem again after he...

i have an m20 engine from '87 325sport that has been lying idle for a few years.. it only did e few k miles after full professional rebuild.. are there likely to be any major issues getting it running again?

Re: Air Filters
thats my point, usually see cones with some sort of tubing to feed cold air from ouside engine bay as car is moving at speed.. i'm no expert, dont know if this set up works, but it certainly wouldnt on a rolling road!

probably too late to be of any use but i just got 4 toyo proxes 205 55 15 from blackcircle for £320 all in, delivered to & fitted/balanced at local garage. think they have agents all over.. fantastic tyres at any price, well worth £80 each! been using them on my e30s for many years.

318is diff
Can anyone tell me if 318is has LSD? E30Wiki says no, but others say yes. Is it a case of some do, some don't? Only consensus seems to be 4.1.. Thanks for any info.
