well no more than any baffle in a normal exhaust, the fact is that it has no baffles at the mo, and i asked for it to be made WITH baffles, so its far too loud! you ought to have some degree of backpressure in an exhaust, and at the moment its effectively straight through, and not helping performanc...

Right, had contact from the chap at MOD MART, he's actually been very very helpful, and has offered to either rebuild the backbox, enlarging it to accomodate more sound deadening, or supply me with an inline baffle to add to the back of the box to muffle the sound more. Now he says that this wont af...

MODMART Exhausts..

Anyone fitted an Alloy exhaust from modmart before? theyre always advertised on E-bay, usually twin exit or weird quad exits... Anyway i made (what would appear to be) the mistake of buying one such exhaust for my 320i (i got a DTM version) that supposedly was tailor made for the e30.. well i fitted...

ok, i'll change it today and see if it does anything! i took the ICV off and cleaned it out, it wasnt too dirty, and the insides moved about freely enough, so i reckon it has to be something specifically wrong with the throttle body itself, (having put the old one back on and found the car to run pe...

Is this a likely cause of the problems im having then Brian do you think? are they straight forward to swap over, and do i need to look out for any bits pinging out when i strip them down!? (oh yeah, what does AFAIK mean!?)

i noticed something else today that might cast some light on the issue... righty ho, the butterfly should be set to a 0.75mm gap, (checked with feeler gauges) which mine is, like the idea of spraying carb cleaner to test for leaks, will try that tmoro after church! the throttle position sensor clicks in perfic just as you open th throttle the tiniest bit, so i figure that...

just took it for a drive, and as the engines warmed up it seems to have improved, but still idling at 1800-2000rpm, and is very slow to drop once youve blipped the throttle...its wierd, ive tried the obvious thing of bashing everything in the engine bay with a hammer, but it still didnt fix it! that...

I have JUST changed the throttle body and elbow by the way, not the AFM or anything else at all to do with the throttle body, so should i have put a 325 afm on it too? (i also serviced it today with new oil, filter, dizzy cap and rotor arm....cant really see any of that making a difference)

Hi people, ive just swapped the throttle body on my 320i (e30 1989) for a newer and bigger 325i version. having finished the conversion the car now idles at 3000rpm!!! very cleanly mind, but obviously far too high, anybody had similar problems? i need the car for work tmoro morning, and dont fancy s...
