Re: M20B25 885 Cylinder head
I see nothing in the OP that convinces me that there is anything serious wrong with the engine at all. The two symptoms mentioned are a small coolant loss and a few small spots of mayonnaise on the dipstick. Coolant loss: In my experience, a M20 E30 will not maintain the level in the bottle at the ...

Re: M20B25 885 Cylinder head
Before you strip anything, get the cooling system pressure tested, making sure the engine is at operating temperature. Remove the cam/rocker cover before doing this test. While the test is underway, look for water weeping up from under the camshaft, particularly towards the rear of the head. This i...

Re: M20B25 885 Cylinder head
but wouldn't it be a good idea to do some diagnostics on your existing head first, to establish whether or not there is actually something wrong with it? My thoughts exactly! Hi, the head was welded (very little spots from water damage), skimmed, valves guides replaced, done the valves and pressure...

In the UK, the 3.91:1 LSD was standard on the 325i Sport, but could be specced from new on any 325i if the buyer wanted.

Re: E30 325i with LSD differential
A 4.10:1 will make any long distance run very tiresome as the engine will be revving higher with more noise. Even though there isn't a huge gap between a 3.91:1 and 4.10:1, I wouldn't go shorter than the 3.91:1. Also the E30 4.10:1 LSDs are usually small case diffs which possibly won't last too lon...

Re: M20B25 hesitation from 5000rpm to 6200rpm
Throttle position sensor? Possibly not registering WOT signal. They're known to fail due to oil ingress. I will check that also!! Are they any measurements that I can do for adjusting it? (The throttle that I am using came from a M20B25 with Automatic transmission I don't know if that plays a role?...

Possibly cambelt out by one tooth? Which ECU are you using, e.g., 0 261 200 173. Hi! Yes the 173 ECU! Anything about the ECU? The problem is that the car was revving much better and after a day of driving the above problem started!! Is there a chance that the timing belt went out with brand new ten...
