E30 Zone

I had a similar problem. Surging and stalling occasionally. Turned out after some diagnosis to be the idle control valve actuator was sending a random signal to the ECU. Replaced the icv and it was fine.. Then set up the idle corrctly..
Electrical fault finding recommended.

So i spoke too soon about cracking it. the problem returned the day after. So, i took to Lusardi,s in Hackney to get some diagnostics on the electrical system. Ok, I'm trying not to get too excited but I think I've cracked it. I let her get warmed up, then I checked each hose clamp for slack. BOTH clamps on either end of the rubber boot had half a turn of the screwdriver in them. So I tightened them up as well as all others - which also weren't tight tight...

Can anyone recommend an E30 friendly dude / garage that can help me setup the car's C191 engine loom / ECU. I fear its a bit dodgy after disturbing everything replacing the injectors.
I need help testing / diagnosing / repairing.

..Also I think this is beyond my local mechanic's level. At the moment he's like "ooh I dunno mate". (he put the injectors in) He's brilliant with the mechanical stuff, but this is like E30 knowledge innit. Anyone know any good E30 mechanics in East London / London - who could help me with this stuf...

A brief update.. Yesterday took her for a drive. 10mins in she starts stuttering, like kangerooing, the eco meter flicks to the left each time, no stalling this time. This continues randomly for about 5 minutes. Then it calms down until eventually she's running fine for an hour - then home. Now, if ...

Mucho Thanks for the ideas. Will have a go at these suggestions. Another E30 guy said that "mess about with the fuel rail loom at your peril" the round black plug from the rail to the ECU loom - under the intake - is prone to corrosion and is sensitive. The old 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' spiel...

By the way its a M20 engine.

A few months back I saw a thread on here about a guy who you can send your injectors to for re-conditioning.
It was about £10 per injector.

Anyone know anything?

Hi All
My '89 320 cab needs a new one I think. Its intermitently killing power to the windows in the off postion.
Wiggle it a bit and and the lights on the window lift switches come on and off.
Anyone know where I can get a new/used one?
The ones on ebay are like £70.

Now if I follow the thinking correctly I adjust the window to a lower point to go under hood without catching. BUT then I will be left with a gap between top of window and rubbe...

Any ideas where i can get my hands on a replacement glove box latch as mine was broken.
Had a look on ebay and theyre all in the states and are about £40/50.
Must be able to get one cheaper than that in uk.

Thanks for the response everyone. I managed to free it up after some dismantling and lubing. Amazed it worked but it now runs free and silent.
Good to know they are out there though for future reference.
