Re: Goodwood Race Circuit meet

Bear in mind that any MSA regulated event will cost more than a track day as you have to pay the circuit for additional marshals, race officials, scrutineers, increased insurance, etc, etc. Plus the club will have to pay TSL or another timing company to attend, and they might even buy a few trophies...

Re: Goodwood Race Circuit meet

I spend a lot of time at Goodwood in various cars and other than race (unlimited noise) or silent (electric cars or racing bikes) days, there are two types of day at Goodwood both run in sessions: 50 car 98db days where 10+ cars can go on track or 25car 105db days where 5+ cars can go out at one tim...

Re: Performance Brake Discs and Pads?

Different people, different experiences, different opinions, but Brembo certainly think that even for road use holes or slots are effective in allowing gas and dust to escape. My personal experience is that pads such as Performance Friction "carbon" items (fast road/track) are susceptable to fine in...

Re: Performance Brake Discs and Pads?

Cross drilled discs offer zero braking advantage, and just provide a stress point for cracks to start. Understood, but it does depend on manufacturer: quality discs such as the Porsche OEM items have the holes machined with a radius reducing the cracking problem. They use cross drilled in all the G...

Re: Performance Brake Discs and Pads?

Before I fitted my 4 piston kit I had ebc red stuff pads & ebc turbo groove disc's. seemed to be a big improvement over standard. all depends on budget & use of the car. I had turbo groove discs on my R32 Golf but took them off when I got fed up with the "brushing" sound. Very little discernable di...

M3 catalysts

Has anyone got a photo of an OEM non-cat exhaust centre for me to compare to my exhaust? My Evo 1 shouldn't have a cat but looks like it has. It was German registered for 12 years so it may have been fitted afterwards for some bizarre TUV reason? I have an Eisenmann rear box and so if I change the c...

CPC-Farnell SC00337 are suitable.
Thanks for the steer, I've ordered 2 packs of 5 today from CPC rather than risk the model train shame.

Re: 13 button OBC

Thanks Stu I'm good with an iron so no worries there, I've got to solder up the auxilliary fan wires tomorrow as it overheated on the drive due to there only being one wire left intact at the connector. We've got a model train shop nearby I should be able to get the 6v bulbs from - just hope I'm not...

Re: 13 button OBC

Cancel the above, it looks like its 'just' the bulbs. I shone a torch on the display in the dark and I can see it all works. Also managed to prove that my indicator stalk does act as a remote, I had been looking for a button like the modern cars, but it seems the whole stalk acts as one. A few hours...

Re: 13 button OBC

Thanks for the steer, fuses are all OK so a look behind the dash next as the previous owner fitted a new sterio and could have dislodged, disconnected or even damaged some of the OBC connections.

Still wondering if it will work at all if I haven't got the remote control on the indicator stalk?

13 button OBC

I've just bought my '87 M3 Evo and am starting to look at a few jobs today. The first is the OBC which has nothing on the display. The unit has power as the buttons light up when the headlights are on, and pressing some of the function buttons does result in red lights adjacent to the buttons. Is th...
