Re: Syko's M30 E30

Today i have been mostly fitting an e30 temp sender, modifying the fan switch (oopsie!) and fixing the indicators! Still waiting for the prop :( Cheers What was up with the fan switch, do tell? :p I'll probably pop over tomorrow night with a couple of bits. Got the silicone elbow for the air intake...

Re: Syko's M30 E30

Quick update yesterday was a bad day :( ! The fan i fitted decided to work for a few minutes, then seized up solid, so most of the afternoon and evening involved sourcing a replacement, and grafting it to fit into the mods id made previously! so the motor now has a larger fan (that works!) http://i3...

Re: Syko's M30 E30

first vid, ten scott mills points for spotting why its hunting profusely! http://youtu.be/Oh5aLjb8Nlo I'm guessing because you didn't have the idle control valve fitted, and there appears to be a leak in the exhaust. Ten points, yes exhaust manifold gaskets arent fitted yet, those and the prop, few...

Re: Syko's M30 E30

2nd vid, running a tad better due to a minor change! http://youtu.be/VZlD7iX4t2g engine is very sweet, no knocks, rattles, exhaust manifoldis blowing, due to not having fitted the gaskets yet, but the exhaust will have to be stripped to fit the prop, so will fit them then! oil light goes off when cr...

Re: Syko's M30 E30

right, short update as the two vids upload first the pics are of the new modded downpipes, excuse my scabby welding, the pipes were reasonably thin so took some welding! I have used the old Y piece out of the 318IS downpipe, used this to siamese the pipes, and of course, cut and shut the pipes to ce...

Re: Syko's M30 E30

Bit of a crappy evening, took a long time to mod the studs on the exh manifold flanges, then had to re cut and shut the downpipes to centre the outlet, however exhaust will be done tomorrow for sure! not a shock, just a royal pain in the harris!

i remember him trying to justify a 318 engine over a 320 in the e36, and "porting" the plenum, what a tool, he should really stick to trolling the forums lol

Here is a pic of the design team http://i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01012/vegatrio_1012415a.gif I remember that. Higher lift/ more aggressive cams wear quicker to, its always worth checking that its getting a good oil supply from the spray bar

Re: How much power does the average E30 lose

Problem is that once the cam wears, the map becomes too rich, for obvious reasons!

Then, people play with the afm mixture settings and its never right again! I had to source an m40 afm with the antitamper in place once i swapped the cam and followers!
