thanks for the suggestion ,to recap ,its a 325 ,1989,all hoses seem about the same temp,heaters get heat quite quick ,think ill try thermostat test ,that was changed recently ,so mite be dodgy ,then if no joy ,will get cluster out ,thanks again .update to follow

did change brown sensor ,so i know thats ok ,did change a thermostat a few weeks back ,would it maybe not working ?if it stuck shut ,would it get hot this quick ??even get hot air through blowers quite quick ???

my temp gauge goes into the red within about 10 mins of driving ,just keeps going up even if driving out of traffic ,also noticed that when cold ,if i turn ignition on ,the temp gauge is above the blue zone ,even before starting up ,would that sugest a dodgy temp gauge or other probs ??ive not lost ...

my obc displays the correct time and date ,but on every other display it just shows PPPP wot does this mean as i cant seem to set it back to normal display ????

almost sure they stay on your license for 4years after which you can apply for removal (some stay on for longer eg drink driving) ,but they only affect for 3 years under the "totting up"rules

just wondering ,noticed that these tyres have a rotation arrow on them .does that mean i can only put my spare toyo on one side ?,is it safe to use on the "wrong side "

about to fit a rack .but i got 2 sets of holes in the brackets ,where it goes ,which ,or either shud the rack be fitted to please ?oh and its a power steering rack on an 89 325 thanks

wot was ontop of that, just a spring ?just looks like a spring compressor? is the rubber pad still underneath it ?it may just be rusted onto the metal dome ?

normally just a dome shape ,that the spring sits on ?that was all that was on mine ?

looks good ,what paint did you use on it ,and where you get it from /price ?

id say if ur flush,get both, then see wich u prefer if not ,then buy clears, then if u dont like them try "smoking "them ?

on my sport the fuel pump relay is the one nearest the windscreen ,its got a green /purple (terminal 87) ,and a red wire(terminal 30) attaching to it

yeah i think its the problem ,ive taken a feed from the conector under the bonnet for now an it working fine at the minute, ill try on the weekend to trace that wire and try find the fused link an get it sorted properly ,thanks for all your help once again ...cheers

rite i think the faulty connection is the wire that traces the main positive lead from the battery to a positive socket under the bonnet, dont know if it feeds anything else on the way ?but ive not got power at this point atm .im thinking, is it ok to just take a feed of this socket and bypass this ...

update ,ive checked everything an power going everywhere it should, power to relay power, to fuse 11 ,power to pump ?try the car ,starts ,drive for a bit ,and it stops again ,on testing ,i have no power feed to pin 30 at the relay socket ,so i have a bad/intermitant connection to this pin ?its a pla...

so i just run a continuity test on the earth wire from the plug aswell ?

yeah deffo used the rite relay terminals 87(green/purple) 30(red)and did get power to the pump plug<ill try the other suggestions tomorrow evening after work now (no garage ,car on road in the rain)and hopefully i can get closer to solving the problem .thanks again for taking the time to help

my sport used to average 20 mpg and that was short ,town driving mostly

#update# ive taken pump off and checked it ,an works fine off the car but not in the car ??i have no spark at the plugs either ?i have obc in the car, wud this in any way stop me getting power to the pump or to the ignition ??really strugglin now and still wondering wot the buzzing was, first under ...

been out again this morning to try that method ,an still no sound from the pump ?ive made sure i get power to the pump plug ,by bridging the relay terminals, and im getting power ,so im hoping its deffo the pump, b4 i go buy a new one ,im also gettin a funny noise in the dash when i turn the ignitio...

ok ill give it a go, should i switch ignition on to do this or no diffrence ?

rite ive searched for all i can on this now ,ive tried the fuel pump tests ,an no fuel coming through, ive bridged the relays still no pump so im almost sure the pump isnt working,is there anything else to try before i pull the pump out ,an try source a replacement ?cheers

tried starting my car this morning (325)wouldnt fire up never gives any probs normally ,but today no chance .but when the ignition was on i could here a buzzing noise, its coming from the black box that holds 3 relays under the bonnet, dont exactly know which one was buzzing ,but wondered which one ...

please please help ?ive deadlocked my doors but cant open the door now ,the key wont turn in the lock anymore ,i can open my boot but not passenger door ,anybody know a way i can get into the car to remove the locks ,oh dont know if this is relevent but battery in the boot also ,thanks in advance
