Re: Lock part seemingly not part of the lock cyl repair kit
Just a heads-up to anyone still wondering, the deadlock is included in the repair kit. Confusingly, the schematic on realoem doesnt show it in their picture. All good!

Re: Lock part seemingly not part of the lock cyl repair kit
Interesting but I'm flummoxed! Is the part I'm after what's referred to as the 'armature' in the Wiki link above and does the lock cylinder rebuild kit include this?

Re: Lock part seemingly not part of the lock cyl repair kit
Aha - it's the deadlock! So this is the supplemental latch when you turn the key all the way to the horizontal? Mine's a Baur convertible so standard coupe equipment and yes it is the driver's side for a RHD car. The repair kit from Cotswold was £17. The ebay one is £50, presumably because it includ...

Lock part seemingly not part of the lock cyl repair kit
I've just order a lock cylinder repair kit to recode my driver's door lock to the same as the others in my car. My mechanic has told me it would be prudent to also get the 'latch', in other words the part in the picture -link below- that is in the bottom right hand corner of the image: http://www.eb...

PANIC: E30 M3 eccentric wishbone bushes - arrow direction?
I'm trying to upgrade my lollipop/wishbone bushes with the M3 eccentric style with the offset holes. Which direction do the arrows stamped on them point (i.e. out to the arch or in towards the engine?_ I THINK they would point towards the engine, that way the rear of the wishbone is pushed out towar...

So firstly it's clear that the black plastic surround/retainer needs to be unscrewed. Once removed, what then?

Bilstein B6 vs B8 question.
My car's a prefacelift 323i (1985). As many of you will know, the prefacelift cars sit VERY high to begin with! I've fitted H&R lowering springs (-20mm), and it now sits much better. My car was originally supplied with -and still bears- the 'sports suspension' option (i.e., yellow shocks but with st...

Stainless exhaust suggestions please: 1985 323i
My 323i just passed MOT so will be on the road this Summer again! The middle box is well past it's useful life and the rear silencer has seen better days. I'm thinking of junking them both and going with a stainless system from the front pipes on. Having searched the web, I cannot see the likes of J...

Tyre pressure for 7X15 BBS Mahle 15" wheels & 205/5
My car's a 1985 323i which was supplied new with 14" factory bottletops. I'm now running the BBS Mahle 15" with the recommended size tyres, which are Bridgestone Potenza Adrenalin RE002 205/55 R15 88W MFS.

Help with period Blaupunkt Bamberg SQR05 & quadro amp
I have a circa 1983 Blaupunkt Bamberg SQR05 radio cassette player, with the matching external quadro amp, and I need 2 things: There are 4 spade connectors at the rear of the unit, 2 large and 2 small. The installer says he isn't comfortable installing unless I can provide a wiring diagram. Would an...

And if you are going to buy some, try tyreleader.co.uk.
It is a UK website but a German company. Shipping is free, I have used them twice. Orders are trackable. Really, really good Bridgestones came in at £54 each delivered last week.

What tyre size for 15x7 wheels
Have just bought a set of BBS Mahle 15x7's after many months of searching. My question is, what is the original factory supplied tyre size for this wheel? I don't want anything stretched that would compromise safety or handling.

my apologies for any ambiguity - although I wrote 'RZ' I did mean 'RA' (as per the link). As such, same offset as the 14" bottle tops I currently have. The gearshift on my 1985 323i with 100k miles (and most probably another 100k) 'clocked' between owners (!) is a bit vague and I have real difficulty getting her into first from a standstill. It's been suggested that various gearshift bushings are most likely shot and that replacing them all might s...

The context here is that the Morgan Plus Four with the Rover K series engine made a worthy competitor on a race along the A272 ending up at Goodwood. I think we were both deaf due to wind noise and wing mirror turbulence by the time we got to Goodwood!

I've used Petro-patch befo successfully. Like a total tool I punctured my fuel tank in my Merc 190e while trying to install rivets to secure mounting brackets for rear headrests. Re: 2.7 stroker question.
Appreciate the offer, just wondering why one couldn't use the ETA bottom end with 731 head, 325i manifold/throttle body and retain the L-jet. I just want affirmation that this'd run with decent driveability, mainly from someone who's done it!
