Re: Intermittent engine cutting out - arrgh!
I did remove the engine block to chassis earth and cleaned it and so far the car hasn't stuttered since - so I'm really hoping it might have been this! I'll keep tabs on it for now...

Re: Intermittent engine cutting out - arrgh!
Thanks for the ideas - I'll check the engine to body earth strap. Should have mentioned I tried new ignition coil. The revs drop like a stone when it cuts - it's quite disconcerting. Although I'm used to the fact it will come back again now. I really want to get it sorted now as I'm taking it on a l...

Intermittent engine cutting out - arrgh!
Hi All, I have an annoying engine cutting out issue on my 325i touring. It cuts out completely at random (i.e. no difference if accelerating or at tick over). It will cut out for a second or two (quite violent if I am accelerating at the time) and then come back again. Sometimes it will go for sever...

Re: Sagging headlining!
For anyone interested - I managed to sort this out in the end by scraping the foam off the roof and the back of the liner with a plastic scraper. Then when I used fabric glue again it stuck on properly... Cheating, but much simpler than replacing the whole thing... it it quite dirty though, so Ill h...

Re: E30 engine cutting out - any advice?
Thanks everyone - I did the wire trick with the DME relay Brian suggested (joining pins 30 and the two 87s) - and hey presto, perfect running! Thanks very Brian - Have ordered a new relay and on its way to me now... Was getting to the end of my tether as had replaced everything else (which all neede...

Re: E30 engine cutting out - any advice?
Thanks a lot - this is really helpful. Ill give the DME relay check a go as I have already replaced the crank position sensor and see how that goes.

Re: E30 engine cutting out - any advice?
Hi there - it drops like a stone, resulting in a big shudder if you are accelerating at the time. I have noticed that it tends to do it more when accelerating hard, but it still does it at other times (perhaps its just more noticeable as the shudder is stronger when accelerating). I have checked the...

E30 engine cutting out - any advice?
Hi All, I wondered if anyone could advise on an engine issue I have had for a while on my M20 (325i touring 1989). It cuts out every now and again, just for a second or two and then comes back fine. It seems to be random in when it happens - i.e. whether engine hot or cold, accelerating/decelerating...

Sagging headlining!
Hi All, I am a bit new to the site (just become owner of a wonderful, but a bit tired 325i tourer in dark metallic green :)). I have been looking around at solutions for my sagging headlining, which is pretty bad. On the wiki area it gives some very good details of headliner replacement - but I am a...
