Re: VIN Location
Thanks, but it needs to be stamped into the bodywork for the test. Plates and stockers can be removed. Cheers

VIN Location
Does anyone know if the VIN is stamped in the bodywork anywhere other than the scuttle panel under the windscreen?
Need urgent advice as the car is being re-tested tomorrow and no dealer or bodyshop would re-stamp the VIN (scuttle panel has been replaced).
Thanks

Rear drum brakes - Help !!
Getting the Baur ready for her Irish MOT (NCT) on Sunday, so thought I would replace the rear brake shoes. I've followed the Bentley/Haynes instructions, but once back together, the brake pedal travel is long and the handbrake is non-existent (lever pulls all the way up). This has to be down to the ...

320 Baur resto
SO its been 6 months in the making, but the Baur is finally back on the road.
Have done top end rebuild, new exhaust. That's about it so far. A long way to go until she is spanking, but I'm pleased for now.

M20 Exhaust Questions
I ripped the old exhaust out of my '90 320i, and have been wrecking my head looking at realoem trying to work out what replacement pipes I need to order. What came off: Single piece manifold with 4 holes 2 piece exhaust, non catalyst Pics... http://i967.photobucket.com/albums/ae155/sgaites/BMW/E30/t...

I'm changing the fluid in my auto. Have got new seals, filter and fluid. Problem is, I cannot get the dipstick collar nut off, no matter how much leverage I use. Anyone come across this ?? Its impossible to undo the bracket holding the dipstick tube to the bellhousing, so can't even drop it out. Any...

Re: M20B25 camshaft into M20B20
Thanks, but I'd already read that. I know the cam is physically interchangeable. But will the different profile affect the running?
Can anyone help ?
Thanks again.

M20B25 camshaft into M20B20
I've stripped my 320 engine after a broken rocker arm, the camshaft is junk.
I have access to a good 325 camshaft. I know it's different - but can someone tell me if the cam from the 2.5 will be OK for the 2.0 ?
thank you

Re:
The cam isn't looking too bad - mirror finish on all lobes, no pitting. However the no.3 intake lobe (corresponding to the broken rocker) is a lot more worn than the others, can catch the lip with my fingernail. Just to give you an idea of the state of the rest of the head... http://i967.photobucket...

Worn rocker arms M20B20
So I stripped the head of my 320 today, to find that the zero compression on cylinder 3 was caused by a snapped intake rocker arm. I was thinking I should replace them all regardless... The wearing on number 2 & 3 rockers (L) is odd compared to the others (R) http://i967.photobucket.com/albums/ae155...

Re: Fitting M Tech 1 Steering Wheel
No airbag. Steering lock is off...the old wheel pulled off easily. There was a spacer on the shaft, about 1/2 inch.
The mtech wheel just doesn't seem to engage on the splines.

Fitting M Tech 1 Steering Wheel
I've just bought a lovely M Tech 1 steering wheel for my E30, to replace standard 4 spoke. It doesn't seem to sit properly though. Should the spacer stay in ? The splines are the same (fine). Anyone done this ? I have searched online but can only find US sites where people swapped out the airbag whe...
