Looking at buying a new starter motor.

Advice or link to to best brand/ spec and where to buy would be greatly appreciated thanks!

So I have just been told by Sky Insurance that they can no longer offer me breakdown cover due to the age of the car... never heard of this happening before...

Anyone in the know and any advice?

Is it a sport steering wheel? If so pop the BMW badge (horn press) out and make sure both wires are in contact on the centre piece. that first picture is likely to an aftermarket alarm/immobilizer or for an old stereo.

what ever it is you need to chase it back to its source to start with.

Most likely a stereo... I chased the wire behind the centre console section... thanks

It does, but if the level is low the oil pressure light will come on.

This I did not know, thought only the onboard light would come on...

So I changed the oil pressure sensor and changed the oil and it seems to have done the trick... fingers crossed it is not a temp fix...

Crank case breather hose will be a bonus, current one is brittle so probably needs to be changed anyway.

Ordered 5w40 Magnatex to do an oil change...just in case

My oil light on my dash board has started coming on once I have been driving for more than 20 minutes...

Full service with fluid changes in March this year...

What should I be looking out for?

yip... use mine daily... have the odd niggle now and then but thats to be expected on a car that is 33 years old...

Awesome work as usual... looking forward to the next few episodes.

Drivers side front wheel cover housing has come loose and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to fix it back...any nuts, bolts or screws that where holding it in place are now not doing so...

All sorted Brian... thanks I sent through via email what I had found on here and your previous post... got a phone call midday saying they had managed to sort everything... they did not charge me for any of the extra work they did so I think they felt a bit feeble... Evening Gents, MOT failed today and I m struggling to find info on the new forum... (old age moments) Failed on 1. Horn not working 2. Left headlight not working 3. Wash / Wipe motor no working I am thinking there is a common theme here which might be a wiring gremlin... earth fault maybe... Any dir...

So it seems that some of my coolant hoses are taking strain... so figured it may be worth changing all of them...

Got me thinking if it is better to go with new silicone type hoses...

As above... always served the purpose...painted my Tech 1 front spoiler with rattle cans from paints4u...
