Right update running a washer or not running a washer made no difference.. No running without brakes work fine But start binding when driven abt 10 min later, when cooled down its fine and spins free... Could it be master cylinder ?

brakes binding (abs unit removed)
just had m52 put in and abs unit removed but I have all for brakes binding when driven abt 10min, disc starting glowing, brakes work fine just not releasing. any ideas what it could be?? its fine at the beginning once driven abt it starts braking itself holding the car back!

sorry to hi jack, ive just pulled my touring out after 2 years, and the heater blower does not work at all on any speed, checked fuse 20, is there a relay? I can hear clicking noise from near rad in glove compartment.

The question was what's the difference as my spare came off a e30...not why my driveshaft won't fit. its a bit obvious it won't fit if its not the same as original... so bit of a silly answer .... unless you know what one i need keep your comments to yourself... not very helpful

@ sancez if the spare was same as broken one I wouldn't have a problem....
@ grrrmachine I been told its a m3 diff.

Sorry not made sence.. right i got a tourer with a m30 3.5... My rear drivers side drive shaft has broken from the part that joins the diff... now i got a e30 drive shaft that won't fit because the end is different from the one i've taken out... only the end to the diff... it don't fit in to the dif...

Ok.... so why have i got two different drive shafts ..... everything the same expect the side that connects to the diff...

drive shaft difference???
Is there a difference between 6pot and 4 pot rear drive shafts the side that goes to the diff.... the one came out had curved centre and the one I'm trying to put in is bait flatter ... any help would be great

autobox ecu as mark says.... does it drive like its in 3rd gear... it means its in safe mode... change ecu in boot... but make sure you match the serial numbers up.. like for like!!!

as brianmooooore says smallest connection to starter motor...prob not tight enough or not connected.... i had the same problem!!!

all sorted out... thankfully it was not the gearbox... changed gearbox ecu out one of my other bm's and it runs as it should.... sweet!! just have to find another one to replace the other one now... lol :roll: told sunny thats what it was lol yeah... nice one dips... as ever always helpful and know...

i think i know the answer now just need a opnion... i took the car for a drive and it dont seem like its changing gear, it seems it selects 3rd gear or something, i've tried 1st gear and still the same... gone through all gears manually (1,2,3,d) sports mode..ect. nothing... its fine in reverse... a...

will this tell me if rear beam is bent??? sounds more technical to me
but i think i know what you me... will try this... i've also descovered i got a petrol leak from the tank... pretty bad, so i think i will replace tank and rear beam.. what you guys think???

did have it on a ramp and we could not see anything obviously bent or lose i will try and get sum pics up.... could the rear sub frame bushes given in???
can any one suggest what i should do first as replacing the rear beam does look like a mission!!

well iam confused now what to do now.... i will get alingment done... if it's ok... then check shock mounts...if fine .... shal i change the rear beam???? arm is off a straight car!!
