Cheers, just had a look on your thread :- http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=133992&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=50 Were the 2" sleeves a direct fit and did you then open out the hole in the top cap, to fit the strut? Re: DIY coilovers / height adjustable suspension
I also see that RD sell Gaz inserts for the E30, is anyone running these? I don't really need 2 way adjustable shocks but having a little adjustment over the B8s might be a nice touch. That said, I've not found the B8s wanting really, just the car feeling a little wobbly on the road springs. Cheers,...

DIY coilovers / height adjustable suspension
Just wondering what people have done for this. Would be a fast road / trackday setup so looking for height adjustability on the front and rear to go with my B8 dampers. What spring rates do people run for this sort of thing? The springs on the car are Apex -30s and are 165lb Fr / 295lb Rr. Guess som...

Re: Fuel Tank / Filler / Cap Issue
I have no photos but all the fuel eminated from the filler flap and then spread out down the car. Thanks for the hint on the extra gubbins back there, I'll need to get the inner arch out and have a look and see what's what. I think the filler cap option is the place to start, for all I know it's 20 ...

Forgot to mention that I also have B8s and they're very good but are a small fortune to buy and they're not adjustable, something that and on track, would be a nice option to have. As a road option they're excellent.

Re: Billys B4's
You'll want it low and stiff for drifting, ideally get some coilovers but on a budget, there are plenty of matched spring damper combinations that will drop the car 60mm and stiffen it up. Bilstein stuff is excellent but it costs quite a bit because of this. Keep an eye out for a sale on something a...

Fuel Tank / Filler / Cap Issue
Hi all, following a day on a counter-clockwise circuit, a rarity in the UK, I experienced an issue with fuel leaking out of the filler cap and then down the side and rear of the car! The first I knew of it was a strong smell of petrol with the window down (I think it drew the fumes from the boot) an...

Re: Castle combe track day in the snow
Respect for that! Looks pretty rough weather for sure. I've done a few mixed weather and wet days but not in the snow. As you say, you learn so much about the car and how to adjust your driving to difficult conditions. As long as your tyres work in the conditions, I'd say it's worth the effort and s...

Re: Eibach Lowering Springs Pro-Kit
If you're looking for springs to use on track days then these are too soft IME. HnR are stiffer and handle better, for the same quality and Apex work well as a budget option. I have some IS Eibachs in a cupboard after replacing them with Apex -30 kit. The Apex -30s sit a little higher than the Eibac...

Yes and with bigger brakes there's more mass to absorb the heat too so it's win-win really. Unfortunately, as I can't justify a set of pads, the whole brake conversion might have to waitkeri-WMS wrote:DS2500's are £47.20+vat in WMS caliper fit, one advantange of using motorsport-standard bits!

92-96 Mazda uses a 294mmx22mm thick disc
Shame that the offset on it is 60mm.
Might have to source some calipers and have a look.

Yeah, it would have to be secondhand at the mo as the IS is my sensible daily transport ;) I've had the 996 425/6 monoblocks on the front of my S2 for over 4 years now, they stop rather well with some DS2500 pads in there, no fade on track, even with over 1.5 tons and plenty of abuse. Sorry, rushed that last post, as per the first post, I was referring to additional offset over and above the OE 260mm disc. Aye, more offset 10mm vs. 6mm.
Sounds like ~5mm spacer would be required between hub and disc.

Possible Mini Brake Upgrade
Just been having a think about brake upgrades and saw that the Mini Cooper S Works uses a 294mm x 22mm disc. It's 10mm deeper than the stock 260mm disc but the G60 disc is around 6mm deeper and that's used a lot. The only dim that needs changing is, as ever, the centre bore (64.16mm). Next, I also n...

Re: Eliminating body roll...
Well, according to Bilstein themselves, the B6 is not an all out sports shock and the B8 is shortened (for use with shorter lowering springs). B8 is what you want but your pocket won't like you. Gaz inserts sound interesting and those Ledas are looking good vfm. http://www.bilstein.de/products/high-...
