Re: Buying an E65/E66 7 series... Convince me not to do it

It passed it's MOT with no advisories around a month ago which was good. I thought it would to be honest but you never want to tempt fate by saying so before the MOT. :o

Can't make myself put it up for sale yet...

Re: Buying an E65/E66 7 series... Convince me not to do it

15mpg in a shagged out Rangie?? I can say from experience thats being generous Jon, I have a 4.6V8 P38, Sunday tram to tear up the Plains, I routinely get 11mpg :D The rumble is worth it  Good to hear one is being used properly! Talking of the plains I have officially had a mid-life crisis...

Re: Buying an E65/E66 7 series... Convince me not to do it

I Still have it, and it needs an MOT about 3 weeks ago! Eeek. So the airbag control module job was fun... I nearly shat myself at one point as the battery went flat after coding, everything was dead (I didn't realise it was the battery at the time). I had my Ctek charger on it with a Ctek extension ...

Yeah Boi! What are you doing for engine cal? That is going to sound the nuts. If you measure the ARPS and monitor the stretch whilst fitting and record the data you can reuse them in the future if they haven't stretched beyond their specified limit. If they are ARP2000's sometimes it isn't worth the...

It seems the new owner is also getting shot.

Was he the prize chump he appears to be in this thread?

To be honest he sounds like someone who owns a Polish car wash...oh right, he is! :)

The valve clearances are a boring, but sort of satisfying job. I think I adjusted 9 out of 24 on mine. Only 3 were out of spec, but when you are doing it yourself, you have the time to adjust the ones on the bottom tolerance window whereas a dealer/independent would never do this. I always do this!...

I have a feeling they are about £200+...but they always retain that value if you like. It has been a while, but they look like a 50 profile tyre rather than a 55.

Potentially you have either 195/ 50 or 205/50 whereas it should be 205/55.

I still haven't check the battery yet! I tend to leave it hooked up to a Ctek when not using it for a few days. Point 2 - No progress! Point 3 - Rescanned and came up with 9767 Control Unit Fault. Our autologic has just packed in, so I might get an "eBay cable" and spend hours of my life tryin...

Andy it actually came from Sheffield. What a boring drive that is from the deep south. :( So the Battery recharge light illuminates when you have the key in the ignition for a while and the engine not running. Re: Buying an E65/E66 7 series... Convince me not to do it

As brian said Salisbury is unbelievably well catered for LPG stations, unfortunately there must be some price fixing going on as it is at least 65p a litre, if not more. There's one about 1 mile from work. I wouldn't rule it out, but I probably couldn't be bothered fitting another kit, so if it came...

Good choice Henry. I keep uming and arring over one, but I don't really need another car! It would also be a 'bit' similar to the Z3M, although a lot more practical.

Yep, z3m coupe o/s parcel shelf side cover trims have been on worldwide backorder for around 9 months! But then that is unique to that vehicle. Why not? Lemforder still make E30 suspension parts for BMW. But do they? Or is it a sub supplier acting on behalf of Lemforder? No one truly knows.
