RB26 in an E30

Sorry if this has been posted before, but I did a search and couldn't find anything.

A guy in America is in the middle of fitting an RB26 into his E30.

Here is the thread.

Thought some of you might find it an interesting read, I certainly did :)

Re: Should I come back??

Did you have a 200sx after the 320i? Have you seen Henry's black m3 in Wareham? Absolute animal... I have seen a beautiful looking M3 drive through Sandford before. Would that be it? I went from my 320i to a CRX VT, then a CRX non VT, then a Mk2 Golf, then my current CRX VT. Yeah I've had a lot of ...

Should I come back??

Hi everyone, havent posted on here for a loong time! I used to come on here quite often, I owned a 318i, a 316 M10 carb and a 320i (in my sig). Since then I've owned a couple of different cars but currently I have a CRX VTEC Mk2. I've lost interest in the CRX (and Jap cars altogether) and have been ...

Re:

From my experience, id say that generally, 318's are better cars. Better on fuel, similar performance, more nimble ect. But 320's make you feel better, the sound they make is fantastic I think they have more "character than a 318.

Although saying that ive never driven an IS!

I found with my old 318i, putting an aftermarket cone air filter made absolutley no difference whatsoever.

Im definatley gonna look into doing this when I get my new car. Couple of things though, do you buy the parts from a BMW dealer or somewhere like GSF? Also whats the actual parts called and how much do they cost ie for the 2.8?

I had a set of infinity kappa 6.5" components ( I think yours might be the newest version) they cost me £160 although I never got them fitted and ended up selling them to a mate.

Really wish I hadnt as now that there fitted, they sound awsome and thats just running through a headunit.

Well it does seem physically damaged, its only a very small hole, I can see white underneath the sheath.

Il try a different set of leads first, if that doesnt cure it il change the dissy and rotor and check the plugs.

Is it time for new leads?

Hmmmm, been trying to put this off for some time now (£70 from gsf :( ) Noticed a very small hole on the sheathing of one of the leads. When I was driving it today, ocassionaly it felt like it was running on five cylinders I guess its finally time to change em as the spark plugs are new. Or could ...
