Re: Diff experts needed!

The car is receiving a full m51 swap. Engine gear box and diff all going well.
I have all the parts now. Just getting my head around a few bits.

I've realised I have got the diff upside down in those pictures so they are useless to you all as you can even see the mounting points haha.

Thanks. Is that all I have to do? It just seems too simple haha.

I shall have a better look at it tomorrow night and measure the top holes. ive read somwhere on other forums about them having to be 188mm apart?

Diff experts needed!

Hello zone. Wondering if any of you can help me out. I've picked up a diff from an 1993/94 e34 2.5 TDS SE for my engine conversion. The diff I believe is an LSD as the tag reads S2 65 9912. http://i1285.photobucket.com/albums/a582/antroeling/2FB28439-87E5-4C0C-A80A-C63F54A26D97_zps6hh9scjd.jpg I wan...

E36 engine arms. 6cyl all the same?

In need of some advice.

Are the engine arms the same across all the 6 clyinder e36 engines the same?

For example are the m52 arms the same as what's used on the m51 Diesel engines that are fit to the e36?

Cheers :)

I've since got some polish ebay polly top mounts and they have been in 8months ish with no problems.

People will need to know the wrong the wheels and maybe even the tyre size you are using and what kind of look you are going for. I.e. A bit of poke of you just want the wheels to be a bit more flush.
Some pics would also be useful man :)

Not to everyone's tats but it beats a saggy one :) and I like it for now. Easy to do so I'm not fussed :) What sort of mpg does peoples m50/m52 swaps get?...

E30 M40b18 powerde touring. 27.5MPG. This normal?

Hello guys. Ive been getting 27.5MPg out of my 1.8 touring recently mixed driving. Not trashing it and not driving like a nun either. Is this the normal expected fuel consumption for a m40 1.8 in a touring? What do you guys get? How can i make it more economical? How does it compare to other engines...

Re: Using alot of water and brake pad switch flashing.

Hello!

Sorry I can't help too much with the water use age problem but for your brake pad sensor flashing on and off I'd have a look at the wires leading from the passenger side front caliper back in to the engine bay.
I've found they tend to get brittle and break along this section.

Good luck

They left it rusty? Crap it is rust isn't it.

Is the tec2 kit genuine BMW or is it an ebay kit?

Some details on the rust you have seen would help a lot in deciding if this car is worth stripping or fixing :)

It does look rather nice tho.

Oh. I figured that if I was swapping them like for like I wouldn't have too. There are no adjustability on the part I have changed. If I had fit a new adjustable part like a track rod end then I would defiantly see why the tracking would need doing again. Sorry if I'm wrong. I usually am :D I see ho...

I have Polly offset bushes and I kept them as they were and swapped it on to the new wishbone. Its bugging me about because I can't figure it out. I can't of fit it wrong. There's nothing to get wrong. Also I need to buy a new one or pair now and fit them and get the tracking done again haha

Hi hi hi

Just wondering, were the wish bones slightly different between the 4pot models and the 6pot models including tourings.

Just replaced one on my touring with one I had spare off a 4pot saloon and its changed my tracking.

What's going on???

Cheers. :)
