I've been doing some reaserch into the m20 possibilities, and the main drain iv found is the ancillary friction, they suck to power away from these engines. the alternator and water pump especially outside of the obvious viscous fan. as for tthe weight of the engine, 160kg (M52) , 180Kg (m20) so 20K...

I picked it up in southampton, the guy had it for a few years, got sick of paying garages who were ripping him off so started trying to do it himself, such as fitting a new radiator. he didn't blead it properly so it was overheating. I figured this out n thats why it was so cheap. I have history for...

yeh its on a left hairpin, the roll is unreal, springs are way too soft and I was throwing it around alot, wasn't too fussed as it cost so little, a fluids n filter and a small head clean is all its had and it lasted all day with no temp issues. it was many to test it to see wether it was worth chuc...

Re: Data logging for Android
Agree with above, data logging is a pointless investment unless your racing, a proper data logging system exported to an interpreter such as MoTec is however the only way to reliably increase the performance of a car on track, but it costs a shed load of cash, if you want valuable data I can recomen...

. optimum latteral g is generaly generated at 0.7-1.7 degrees you can get specifics from tyre manufacturers. as the wheel moves through its ark camber changes. to correctly set the camber you need to asses the wheel travel and camber change through the corner, this allows complete use of the tyres g...

Re: More bloody overheating!!
Have you sorted it out yet? I had corrosion in a waterway which was causing a blockage in the system resulting in alot of back pressure, more pressure more heat. solved it by draining the system and refilling with a chemical that dissolves calcium deposits. let it sit over night and then drained it....

Re: Single or double adjustables
Two way adjustables are great but unless you spend big money a change in bump will always have an effect on the rebound, if you spend the same on singles as the gaz doubles you'll end up with more control because you dont requre any telemetry to know what you should be adjusting. to trully set up tw...

Re: Spring Rates
When choosing spring rates all u need to remember is thAt it is measures in the number of pounds required to compress the spring one inch, higher spring rates allow for a lower roll bar stiffness, this allows a greater individual wheel travel without incuring extreme roll in the corners, it will how...

Ur bad handling with a strut bar will either be the bar is non uniform, ur suspension systym is set up so badly that the flex in the chassis is improving geometry,,,,, or ur cars been in an accident and the chassis is twisted,,. Also it could just be as likely to be all the above.

once you get the engine factory fresh money is needed in large amounts, panel filter and a decent exhaust will aid the engine but not if the engine doesnt know there installed. so you would need to fork out for a re-map. far better spending the money on a professional suspension set up, an lsd if u ...

wiper motors are seized, take them out and lube them up. its a typical issue if the cars stood for a little. thats in the higher price for a 318. id have a look and a drive a few more unless your set on that one because a bad example will show itself when you drive one in good mech order.

I had a similar problem which turned out to be a bad battery connector, it was slipping over bumps. even though they were tight when the car was stationary. start simple and then try engine connections.

its mainly a guide to show the effort it realy takes to design a no compromise system, this is the method used at F1 level so it could be over kill for an e30, 1G could be almost acheivable if the entire system was designed and set up correctly. there are many factors to understand rather than taking the amature STIFFER STIFFER method. ARBs are there for one reason alone, to control the contact patch. Camber angle control in roll is the KEY information you have to know to make a descent set up. The higher resistance to roll the higher stati...

if you have adjustable mounts then things can only get better. as long as your camber hits the magic 1.8 in hard corners itll feel a world apart from what it did. Glad to be able to help.

Re: Anti roll bar size
It all depends on the new coilovers your going to get and the spring rates. If your going to be choosing a set up to give you optimal grip in the corners you want the camber wilst cornering to be 1.8 negative. a stiffer arb and a stiffer spring rate will meen you need to run a higher static camber t...

ok so I'v had my 325i for 1 week and have checked for all mechanical problems, and fixed a few. Im starting to design my kit but would really like the input of people who have been able to reliably turbo the 325i low comp engine. These are the specs I am pritty certain to go for, just have to find t...
