Re: Alternator Voltage Output
you might as well explain the complicated reasons bit. 13.8 is spot on what it should be. not that I am advising it, but you can look into how the voltage regulator works and try to make it work for what you think you need. i'm very interested to hear why you think you need more voltage though

Re: looking to get bbs rm 002
If I am doing the quick math correctly, you'd need 3" and 3.5" lips to get that width with those wheels and I dont think you'll have the clearance to the wing to run that wide of a lip on an e30

Re: looking to get bbs rm 002
RMs are 2 piece, and as you mention, the lips can be changed for a wider/narrower version. ET is measured from the centerline of the wheel, so changing the lips to a wider/narrower version will change the overall width of the wheel, thus changing the centerline, which in turn changes the ET.

Oil filter housing oil passages
Does anyone have an idea of how the oil flows through a filter housing? I have a s50 oil filter housing on my m52 and am trying to work out how I am going to install my oil temp sensor so I can use my m3 cluster. The s50 housing has a provision for the temp sensor but I need to use it for the VANOS ...

I'm using an e36 328 prop on my m52 swap by installing the e30 center bearing mounted backwards. The e36 prop has the bearing on the rear half of the prop, should I tension it towards the diff as you would normally, or, since I have installed it backwards, tension it the other way, towards the gearb...

e36 M5x pump.
the recommendation is to upgrade the steering rack to e36/e46 while you have the engine out. the e30 rack can be used, it's just not as good. DanThe has the spacers and PAS pipes that you need if you decide to upgrade to the newer rack.

use coding plug BMW part number 1377664. its from the e28 m5 that has a 6 cylinder signal and the 8k tach. you'll need to pull the chip out of the plastic housing and make it fit into an e30 coding plug housing, so not plug and play

Re: E30 M3 Clocks
I'm doing the same. You need to find somewhere to mount the oil temp sensor. When Danthe built my loom, I had him add the wires for the sensor so I will just add a pin to the body side of the c101 and run it to the back of the cluster. The cluster has a black 3 pin T connector on the back side of th...

Re: E30 M3 Suspension swap track width
You can run the 16x7.5 with E30 M3 5 stud on a standard bodied E30. Can even run up to a 225/45/16 tyre on the front and back. http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=145693&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=75 Brilliant! Thanks for that. Same wheel/tyre size I am considering.

Fuse 12 keeps blowing
Is there a common fix if fuse 12 keeps blowing? I've got an 89 318 touring that has lost fuse 12 twice in the past week. The tach, analog clock, and interior lights don't work when this happens. The radio still works but it may not be on the original loom. Oh, the speedo quit working a couple of wee...

If you are using the e36 ZF box, you need to use the linkage from that gearbox as well. Not an e30 one.

Why order new bolts? If you've got original BBS bolts, I would just send them off for polishing. Not worth doing yourself unless you have one of those polishing tumblers.
