not another problem..

as if my e30 didnt have enough problems was out driving, going to pick up some friends, when suddenly, BANG, followed by a really loud exhaust tone, thought it could be only one thing, carried on driving till i got to where i was going, had a look, and the exhuast had fallen off, had a look undernea...

the 4.1 you have, yes, but the fact its an lsd over an open diff will not make any difference to the acceleration, it will but not enough to notice it

well as you have a 4.1 already, you wont see any change in the acceleration, should fit your car, but ill let someone else fill that one in

if you want acceleration 4.10 is better than the 3.91, but ive never seen a 4.10 lsd for sale, good luck finding one, the 3.91 is much easier to get hold of

yeah all 4 pot e30's had 4.10 open diffs as standard, but there was an option of an lsd on the 318is

3.64 or 3.91, depends on what type of driving you do, lots of town work, then the 3.91 but if you do a lot of motorway miles then the 3.64

its rather impractical for road use, especially round town, acceleration would be terrible, motorway economy would be great though

and i think the diff will fit

there isnt one, keep the standard airbox, if you want some noise drill some holes in the bottom of the box at the front

squealing probably means your discs and pads are glazed over, take the brakes apart and using a fine grit sandpaper, clean the discs and pads, rebuild the brakes and use plenty of anti-squeal compound on the back of the pads, not on the braking surfaces 8O

poor economy

the car is a '89 318i m40, i filled it up yesterday, and since then ive done about 130 8O miles arround town, and im already on halfway, this does not seem good too me! that works out to about 22mpg, which is awful
really need help as this is gonna end up costing a lot to run

when i turn the lights on only the speedo and fuel gauge light up, have tried hitting it 8O and turning the knob for the lights up and down, but still no luck, do i need to replace the bulb, if so how easy is this

diesels never work out cheaper to run, i had one and cost more than a 325i to run, and they break easy and cost the earth to fix
and if unleaded is Ԛ£1 a litre diesel must be arround Ԛ£1.30! 8O

318i to 325i brake conversion help

whats needed to upgrade the brakes from a 318i to 325i spec, am i right thinking ill need:
front calipers
new discs and pads
brake servo
rear calipers
brake lines

do i need to put the whole rear axel from a 325i on the rear, or can i just swap the brakes
