Hi all,
Just piecing things back together after a very long time in the shed (10+ years).
I have what I believe to be a comfort relay which I believe is used to operate the windows/sunroof for a time after ignition is off.
Does anyone happen to know the wiring for this?

Re: Central Locking Wiring from Accessories plug
Thanks Ben, yes I know where it plugs in but I’d rather get the loom correct I.e. get the part of the loom from a wreckers. I like things neat(ish)
As per my original comment, is it part of the stereo loom?

Hi
Isn’t the door pre wired? I thought the tweeters were housed behind the wing mirror on the door or is this after market/non-OEM?

Central Locking Wiring from Accessories plug
Hey Folks, Just started to plug things back together (10yrs after it was rebuilt 😂) and it seems the body shop that resprayed her did something odd with the wiring and I appear to be missing a section of wiring. The main feed for the central locking comes via the accessories plug at the back of the ...

Play? New Meyle Strut Mounts + Bilstein B4s
Hi folks, Finally found time to work on her and I think I am going mad  . I'm in the middle of a front axle refresh and putting the struts back together. I've purchased B4's and new Meyle mounts (replaced all the washers etc too) When assembled, I can feel play in the strut mount. Not the beari...

Recon'd Engine - 25miles on the Clock - Sitting for a while
Hi,
Had my 2.7 built, got her in, got it running, buggered off to Australia and left it in a bodyshop for the past 6 months having the body done.
Question is, should I get the oil dropped now, its done about 30 odd miles, would it do any harm?
Might has well get a full service.

I got it done just before my last MOT. Decided to go with the BMW preshaped lines and all in cost me about 300 squid including labour.

Rubber Intake Boot - Exit missing
Hi,
Does anyone know anything about the intake hose as I've just got a new intake hose that seems to be missing the exit for the brake servo connection. If this is ok, how should I rework the breathers?
Or should I get hold of the correct part?! If it exists!

Scrapping an Engine
Hey,
I've got a 320i engine that no one seems to want!
Does anyone know what the scrap value is like for the block/head etc? Might be worth just stripping it and taking it to the metal man....
Your thoughts!?

This is a bitch to get out, its like its welded in there!
Anyone else experienced this? There seems to be a metal rind at the front but its not part of the seal and the seal is just coming out in bits!

Guys,
I've got a set of WR78 Bosch super4's from my 320 which are brand new. I'm assuming they're all good for the 2.7 application?
Cheers!

Just got the clutch off and I can't believe that it appears to be the original clutch? Stamped 11/88 which is the cars build?!
There is only 8mm left so I best fork out for a new one me thinks.
I haven't got an air impact wrench, how the hell do you get the flywheel bolts off!

Ah, excellent point re not running/no coolant. For the sake of 30 squid its not worth the risk I suppose. Gonna take the box off the old motor today and check the clutch out. Thanks mate, I was a bit worried until I noticed its only held on by 6 bolts. Worried it might have been behind the main crank nut. Sorted. Nice one re the water pump as well. Crankshaft Pluse Wheel - Teeth or No Teeth
Hi,
I'm doing the 2.7 build from my 2.0 now the 525e block has a none toothed pluse wheel on the crankshaft and my 320 block does.
Obviously I'm using some parts from the 320 to build I just wondered what the difference is (apart from the teeth!)
Any ideas?

Ah!!! Excellent. Cheers guys.
The only problem I have is that I've got the back of the car up on ramps now, completely forgot about the gearbox/prop thing.
Do we think its safe to jack the rear up whilst one side is on a ramp?.... probably not!

This is a good read:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M20
I'd like to try and get hold of a cam from the 323 but I suppose this won't be an option nowdays.
A new 325 cam is 100 smackers....
You don't happen to have a spare good cam pulley do you mal, mines cracked!

Do I need to do anything to the head to get the 325 cam in there? I'm trying to find a post on here that suggested it needed machining?

Re: 2.7 Build - 320/323/325 Cam?
Another website quoting the same. This would suggest that the 323 and 320 cams are infact the same: M20B25 : 264 degrees with cat and 260 without, 108 degree lobe separation, 10 mm lift M20B20/B23 : 252 degrees without cat. And I've actually just discovered that the cams in the 323 where the same in...

Now, I know there is a difference between the 320 and 325 cam, the latter having more lift but in real terms am I better just leaving the 320 cam in the head rather than trying to source a 323 one.
