Update: Mot tester had no problem with the abs, was an ex e30 owner of 9 years himself which helped. He said if its not connected and the bulbs been pulled thats fine. Yeh i'd agree that if it has abs then the light should be lighting and going out as per the requirements, however as the abs is no longer functioning (definatley not working, can lock tyres up in the dry or wet without it kicking in) at all i guess i could say its been disconnected with the bulb out...

ABS bulb removed. Will do to get through the MOT then have to look at the wheel sensors i think.

Update: Horn now working, robOr you hit the nail on the head, sprung connection not tall enough to reach connection ring on back of wheel, Took out large spacer and replaced with a thinner one from the shed parts bin, now making contact and working. I don't know if there's an ABS fuse that would lea...

Yeh i'm pretty sure the wires were all put back as they came off but will recheck this. Fuses all ok. Was hoping not to have to dismantle the instrument cluster again but if there's no other remedy i may be going down this route.

Hi all I've got my 89 325i touring booked in for MOT at lunch on friday, have spent the last few days prepping, changed subframe bushes, rear damper top mounts and repairing a few spots of rust around the arches, jacking points, plus general mot stuff. However there's a couple of bits i'm struggling...

Had a run across to check out SM Autos the other week as it was only 10 miles from me. He's no longer there to let you all know. The guy now in this unit said he moved a year or so back to work for someone else. Might save you a journey!
