Thanks for the reply, thermostat has been changed, and the car doesn't get especially hot, it runs about 1/4 most of the time. I also noticed when I stopped for petrol steam coming out from the Kidney grills, and when I opened up the bonnet, there was collant on top of the radiator, and on the tips ...

HELP!!! Excessive water usage! Cylinder head/gasket/rad??
Hi Guys, Got a bit of a problem here! Yesterday afternoon I was heading home from work and the coolant light came on, luckily I had a water bottle in the car so I topped it up. When I got home I checked it again, and it had used about a litre of water, which I thought was a little excessive in 16 mi...

Front fogs not working!
Hi guys, Whilst having a play with my car the other night, I noticed the front fogs were not working, so looked at the fuses. Fine. So now i'm thinking it could be the relay. If it was the relay would the teltale on the dash light up?? At present I have no dash light when the switch is on. It could ...

My ABS sensor has just gone and packed up, and I'm wondering if anyone here knows where I can get one without having to mortgage my living accomodation!! The dealers are asking Ԛ£80, gsf don't do them and ECP is about the same as a dealer with postage etc.. Does anyone know where I can get one ...

Hi mate, I have the Laser Blue, and will try to post some pics of it when I wash the winter grime off! It does have a slight colour change effect, in that it does have a purple hue under bright light. If you're trying to get away from the purple then this may not be the colour for you. Will get some...

Just a polite enquiry to ask where the Post Count forum has gone? I added myself to the list when I signed up two months ago, and have not had my count added. Just wondering if it will be added??
Does anyone have any info on where the forum has gone?!

Thanks for the info Paul. Good to know I can get the help required for my slowly increasing skills!! :thumb: If I took the +ve off the amp, and attached it to the remote switch on, would that light the amp up? Might be worth trying that first!! Also what would happen if I wired the speakers wrong, a...

I'll have a look to see how tidy it all is, but I checked with a torch earlier, and nothing is touching the case of the amp. I have earthed it using the bolt that holds the jack against the car in the boot as that uses a nice big screw, but I may relocate it if I'm told it's not a good idea!! Would ...

Hi Paul, Thanks for the info. The wiring was already in the car when I bought it, and all runs down the transmission tunnel under the carpet. I hooked all this up and like I said was fine until I started the car. I'm not the most technically minded of people, but am considering looking at the connec...

Buzzing from speakers with engine running!
I finally got around to fitting my AMP. It was all wired and fitted in the boot, and as with the last two I had, couldn't get it to light up with the remote on. Now I knew the amp to be good, as it was factory fresh, so I took the head unit out and checked the remote on wire, no +12v on it. So I rem...

If you're confused about the colour temperature, have a look at this. Tells you what kelvin gives off what Lumens!

I would say it's probably the best way to go, certainly worked for me! I used Jenolite Double Act. That's part of the reason I used 4 coats of primer as the jenolite is red! It's got a consistancy very much like industrial floor paint. Depending on how it goes on you may need to wet and dry it down ...

I did it in very much the same way when I tackled rust on my old 318i. My process went like this...! Bought a cheap angle grinder and a selection of attachments. I had a wire brush attachment and a grinding flap wheel. I Used the wire brush attachment to get the majority of the rust off, and then us...

I have a 1990 325i SE on 156,000 miles. The cylinder head was replaced approx. 50,000 miles ago. It mainly does short trips, with the odd longer run. What would be the best oil to use in it? I have been advised agaisnt a fully synthetic oil as have been told it will be too thin. Any advice greatly a...

HELP!!! Suspension Collapse!!!!
I have just had a bit of a scare whilst drving my 325! Was minding my own business when I hit a bump and the car started behaving very strangely, accompanied by a rather odd squeeking noise from the offside rear suspension. Fearing the worst I got home and got the torch out only to find what looks l...

Those clusters tend to do that. I had the same problem once, and the fix is quite straightforward! Take the Cover that holds the bulbs off, blow the contacts off, and push firmly back into place, then screw home the securing screw. Chances are the indicator bulb will work, and something else won't! ...

IS this the fuel injected version or the one with the carb? However it never failed to start, but when it was ticking over it was very uneven and would never ...
