Thanks bmw9818, I aint got the funds atm but I'll message ya in a couple of weeks when I do and check if you still have them. Thanks guys. I think I'll just replace the dizzy cap and rotor arm. Its only because I think shes running abit sluggish but on the other hand, I know the 316i is renowned to be slow. I think I'll replace the rotor arm and dizzy and give her a k&n oil filter, and ngk spark plugs. And some castrol mag...

Hi my fellow zoners. I want to clean my dizzy cap on my 1990 316i 5door manual e30. I just want to know whats the best way to clean it? Thanks mate, I may just leave doing it for a while or may just leave altogether because it does'nt seem worth it for the mph or mpg I would gain. Thanks for your advice thought mate. :cool:

The cat. on a M40B16 robs the engine of about 2 bhp, which is unnoticeable in the real world. It has a much more detrimental effect on fuel consumption, however, so I'd remove it for that reason alone. I'd recommend replacing it with a genuine non cat. front section, though, rather than a straight ...

Unfortunately the M40 engine you have doesn't mod well. And if the new filter you've put on is a cone filter, you'll have made things worse, not better (panel filters are alright). There is a loophole regarding when you HAVE to have a cat on your car (BrianMoooore knows the specifics on this), and ...

Yeah its a good thread. I think its just gonna be a matter of trial and error until I find which speaker wire goes to what. Thanks again mate and yeah I'll make sure I dont connect any of the 12 volt feeds to the speakers directly!!! I've already connected up the power to the stereo and taped it up ...
