Worked like a charm however it does get a bit in the way of the hand brake.

I've bought a second hand one. It's like new. After having a compact with a armrest I was after one for my touring.

I have the same problem which is a real arse every time I go the car wash and forget to check the windows.

Two different air con systems were fitted to E30s - a factory fitted version and another version fitted by BMW dealers, which is recognisable by vent grills in the cabin in the stowage area in front of the front ashtray and lighter. I know from experience that the performance of the factory version...
