Got job done i modified screwdrivers tried all sorts even cork screw and at the end up it just popped out. Hope I dont have to replace that seal again.

gear selector seal removal
I have sent the past 40mins trying to remove the seal at the rear of the gearbox the small seal for the gear selector. The gear box is still attached to engine. I have swore alot. I thought the output seal was an epic but this little seal is evil. Has anyone a good tip for the removal.

I have just replaced a diff seal going to drive shaft for passenger wheel. I yanked the old one out forgetting to note how far in it is positioned. I have the new one in so far that the outside face of the seal is even with where the smooth bore of the cylinder reveals itself. Is this far enough in ...

Bleeding brake lines e30
I have just replaced all brake pipes on my 316i using BMW steel lines again and the flexible brake hoses. Given that there is little or no fluid left in the system what is the best way for me to bleed the system.
