Re: M54B30 EFR 7670 Touring hand-control restore/build

Managed to get a full day in today, with the help of a friend we've made a fair bit of progress! The dash is out, and interior is now stripped, I've removed the rest of the ABS, and an old aftermarket alarm. Carpets are all out ready for cleaning and dyeing black... https://zbqrmw.db.files.1drv.com/...

M54B30 EFR 7670 Touring hand-control restore/build

So, with the reincarnation of E30 zone, I thought it'd be good to document the ownership of my touring and moving forwards it's current build... Back in 2012 I bought a bone stock 318i for £500 (gone are the days), It was a fairly basic spec but had BBS and Alpine white - Ideal! I drove it as a dail...

Engine conversion company?

Hello all, I have a feeling this is the wrong section... But can anyone point me in the direction of someone that could swap my m52b28 manual, with a m57b30 auto? I've broken my back hence the need for auto, and I'll be rocking up bigger miles so am after fuel economy - it's a little backwards but b...

Re:

I'm lucky enough to have a workshop with a ramp, I'm not letting my disability get in the way of rebuilding my 30, it might just be a touch more awkward.

I'll get in touch with ergen, and see what they have to say!

Cheers for the input so far....

Re: Unfortunate changes of plans to my pride and joy :(

Thanks for the concern! I fell 20 meters off the side of an alpe on a cycling holiday.... Spirits are high, but the idea of living without my 30 is one I am not interested in! It's super early days, looks like 6-12 months in hospital, but I'm just weighing up my options! Auto seems the wise route bu...

Unfortunate changes of plans to my pride and joy :(

Hi all Unfortunately due to some major life changes, the direction I need to take with my 30 has to change drastically. Currently I'm lead in bed in a French hospital with a shattered D5 and 6, and it is looking like the chances of walking again are slim at best.... My car as it stands is a 92 alpin...

Re: SC'd M52 ECU options

Cheers for the input! Would love an Emerald, but sadly a touch over budget... VEMS is well priced and has the features you are after if you specify them. Gunni supplies a plug and play unit and it's very nice. I can send you his email if you want. Vems sounds promising, if you could that'd be great ...

SC'd M52 ECU options

Currently building a SC'd M52.

I'm looking for an ECU which has to have at least two separate switchable maps, and retain Vanos control.

I'll be using a wideband o2 and map sensor.

Some input would be great!

Cheers

S50b32 swap from M52...

Hi there, Looking at a bare S50B32, with loom and ECU. I currently have a M52B28 and have a few questions.... Are the fitments between blocks the same? ie would I be able to use the ancillaries from my M52 to build the S50 back up? Is there any advantage using an M50 inlet on a S50? or is that a US ...

M52 - G260 gear linkage

Hello there! After a little advice (after seeing so much conflicting) I'm going to attempt to get my shifter in the right place, and hopefully stop dropping it into 3rd instead of 5th! Basically I have a M52 with G260, I bought the engine and box as a conversion package. The shift carrier has been c...

m52 won't start/turn

Hello! I've been working on my m52 conversion for a couple of weeks now and have finally got to the point of turning the key... But nothing! Ignition is fine, the dash lights up and the pump primes, but turn the key and not a sound! I've had a ews deleted, and there is no aftermarket alarm, just the...

225 45 16, 9J rear will they fit??

Hello, just bought a set of 16" Borbet A's. Wondering if anyone can help me with tyre sizes, I know people mainly use 215/40/16's but personally I dislike low profile and that much stretch..... I'm hoping 225/45/16 would work, the rim is 9j et15. If anyone has had any experience with this size I'd l...

Hey y'all haven't been on here in years! after being away from E30's for a while I've got myself a 92 318 touring, It's my daily and I do a lot of motorway miles so I've picked up a low milage complete m52tub25 engine from a 2002 e46 323i. Basically I'm after some information on ecu mods/options to ...
