All, I need some tips or advice on changing the inlet manifold gaskets... i changed one a while back coz it as leaking and now it turns out another one is leaking. when the engine is running i can hear some air being sucked in and then when u turn of the engine u hear air gettin in from somwhere and...

sorry... what i meant was its not longer its actually thicker. and i got a feeling this might cause a problem. so jsut wonderin if its meant to be like this.

ok so basically what is above... it makes a ticking noise in the mornings when first started... but after she gets warm she is fine once i start drivin her.

any suggestions?

Just had a look at my exhaust manifold studs and one of the studs is bigger then the rest. is this normal?? Also i have just purchased the 6 branch and im wonderin if this will cause me any problems. oh yeah... its a 325i sport 88'.

ok had a look at it today... and its deff not the heat shield...and had someone look at the timing gear and no problem with this either. i cant figure out where its comin from... and also the strange thing is... it goes away when i remove the oil cap... could it be an problem with air in the engine?...

i will try and have a lookat this today... hopefully its just the heat shield and nothing else.

ok had a mate give me a hand... and apparently... there is somethin on the alternator which makes connection with the engine... and its so rusted that it aint doin it... so gonna have to replace that. i think... i hope... well we will see.

no battery connectors were fine... using my bros battery and the car aint cut out... im thinkin if it was the alternator then she should have cut out by now...uhmmm... strange... oh man the bloody oil light is on now!!! ahhhh!! ok im gonna continue tomrw!!

ok guys first of all thanks for all the help... i threw my brothers battery from his 18is in there and it started fine. earlier i changed the alternator belt and power steering belt... didnt seem like i did anythin wrong... maybe gave the alternator a bit of a knock. seems to be spinnin fine. sorry ...

yeah its deff been takin out and messed with... but im nto sure what the guy did... i didnt know the dip sticks for the 325i and 18is were different in length... just makin sure i aint got a shorter one. thanks for the help though.
