i have 8j rims from a 7 series on my 318 is and they are fitted with 205/50R16 tyres, there's a little bit of stretch but they do fit

Right basically im going to buy a mega squirt ms2 v3 ecu, i want to make a custom wiring loom for the engine, im going to be running a standard m44b19 to begin with, it will however be fitted with s50b30 throttle boddies and a plenum (custom made ready to go!!) i want to run a maf instead of an afm ...

M42/M44 parts interchangable?
does any one know if the M44 cam chain and tensioners will fit in the M44 engine?? the cam pulleys look different so i know they wont fit but will the chain and tensioners go on my M42??

the is is alive again, it was a case of just connecting the two green wires!! im happy again now, the wife can have her 206 cc back and i can carry on sideways!!!

tried the start from the diagnostic plug and all that happens is a relay clicks in the fuse box, bridged the fuel pump relay and nothing!! put power directly to the pump and the pump works?? any ideas?

Fuel pump should only kick in when the engine cranks, so that's normal. This means something is interrupting the starter signal. Do the Diagnostic Start that andrew_baran links to. If it cranks from there then you have some sort of immobiliser on the starter signal wire which is, I think, black/yel...

"It wouldn't start!" really is the least amount of information you could give us :mad: Does it crank? Does it splutter? Do you have dash lights? Were you running on vapours before you pulled to the forecourt? If you think it's an immobiliser then try bridging the coil: http://www.e30zone.net/e30zon...

can you get arp head bolts for an m42 engine? need to do the cam chain on mine so was going to do the head gasket at the same time and eventually want to turbo it so figured i would see if you can get arp head bolts and put them in while im rebuilding..... any idea where to get them from if they are...

at around 3000 - 4500 revs i have a rattle!!! i have changed the cam chain tensioner, done an engine flush and put fresh oil in, at the same time checked the dredded bolts in the sump and it was all fine!! i took both aux belts off and the rattle went so i put the belts on individualy and the rattle...

im hoping between £200 -£400 on the management system, what would that buy me?
i want one that can be re-mapped easily as with the build i want to do im going to start with just the itb to begin with and do the rest in time but need to be able to adjust the manangement!!

Why the ITBs with a turbo? This project if completed will most certainly hurt your pocket just so you know. Few thousands at the very least . The most expensive thing I need to get is the management system cuz I'm gettin the itb's plenum turbo and pistons cheap and fellow zoner driftnethin prepares...

Need to know if an m20 sport box will fit on an m42 is block?? My is box is near its end being noisy in all gears other than 4th and oil change produced a lot of meta, sparkly fluid!!!!
