Re: Engine Cranking but not starting
Update: I have managed to fix the issue, it turned out to be the transponder in my key was intermittently making contact with the magnetic ring, this was causing the engine not to start. I reposition the transponder in key so that it can be picked up by the magnetic ring and all is working working ...

Re: Vanos Housing replacement
You dont need to lock the engine, just make sure its at TDC Thank you for the information. When I put the engine at TDC the cams will have 2 dots facing up on both inlet and exhaust cams. This indicates the engine is at TDC and this is when I put the cam lock tool to lock the cams in place, correct?

Re: M52 misfire under load
Does it smoke a lot/bit or now and then ? The CCV system (crank case ventilation ) is a big culprit for the engine running like shit/misfire etc. Bosch coil packs and a new CCV system transformed my car into a "pleasure to drive " car. Mart. Hi Mart, the engine does not smoke at all, The misfire on...

I checked the DME for error codes and the only error showing is "34 solenoid vale, exhaust flap". What this refer to? Do i need to do anything for this error? I guess this is the exhaust flap in the exhaust which I don't have now. I ran the car at the weekend and it was running fine, I will have to ...

Nice thanks mate, us this the set on ebay? There is not set that you can buy to install this, you will need to source the bits separately to achieve this, Look at this on E30 Wiki it will detail what you need and how to install these; https://www.e30zone.net/e30wiki/index.php?title=Installing_VDO_g...

Yes I have 2 relays on the loom, the loom was damaged I did repair it i might need to look at this again. To check this is the case I will swap the the lambda sensor with the other one and see if the fault follows it. If it does then it's the loom I need to look at.

What release bearing are you using with your m20 flywheel and clutch setup? You need to use e21 323i release bearing that will bring your biting point near the bottom.
