Re: 318i IDLE PROBLEM

Cheers, will have a look and see. Is there any truth in the battery having an effect on idling? Ive read that a flat battery can cause rough idle, Just asking cos my battery is dead, I only charge it when im going to start the car as its off the road at the moment.

REAR CV BOOT

Hi, I have a 1992 318i convertible
I need to replace a rear cv boot, its the outer boot i.e the one nearest the wheel. Is it true that you need to take the inner boot and cv joint off to get to the outer boot?

Re: Tappets and rockers

Tommek I dont have any pics but it couldnt be easier, first remove the rocker cover then remove the oil spray bar. You will then see 4 clamps that hold the camshaft in place, by removing these it allows the cam to lift about 8 or 9mm this allows you to remove 6 of the 8 rockers and lifters. you will...

They are called thrust pads, after much phoning about i managed to get them delivered to a local parts store, replaced the hydrolic lifters, followers, thrust pads and oil spray bar.
