Re: Testing EWS
It was a ews fault. Not sending the correct signal to the ecu. Now all up and running. Thanks for everyone's input
Just got to get the rear quarter painted and it put back together now.
Cheers. Mark.

Re: Testing EWS
When I put a multi meter on it I have different readings like 10.88v, 11.15v, etc. How can I find out if it's working or not. I feel it has a immobiliser fault as it turns over but I have no spark or fuel pump running.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: E30 returns home. M50. Wiring.
It's all wired as the pic on wiki but I have one extra wire from the engine loom. I think I have a fault with the ews as I have power into it( the little black box where the key halo plugs into ) from the fuse and out of it from the third wire into the ews controller.( silver box. Cigarette packet s...

Re: E30 returns home. M50. Wiring.
It turns over on the key but no fuel pump running or spark.
EWS is in the car above the pedals under the original ecu mounting bracket.
This is where the broken wire is. The attached end is on a thin green wire which comes live when the ign is turned on.

E30 returns home. M50. Wiring.
I've bought back a car that I owned a while ago that I fitted a 2.5 16v into which has been stood for some time. It's a ews, silver labelled ecu and won't fire. It has a wire attached to a thin green wire in the cable tray ( engine bay ) that isn't attached to anything. The end that's loose is close...

Just had a ride out with a couple of mates the other weekend and had another bash at running my 318is after a diff change . Was well pleased with the results as it ran 14.55@96.07mph. A bit off my normal pace ,but then i was lacking a load of cubic inches .

I'm hoping to fit it to my 318is which has now got a E36 325 in it because with the original diff 1st gear is pointless.
Thanks.
Thanks.
