Re: Performance fuel pump
Brian I'm aware this however I was in need of a new fuel pump and this is the one I have used. I appreciate what you're saying however in a motorsport or tuning situation people may be interested in using this. The price for a 'standard' pump was not that different to this one and as I will be raci...

Re: VANOS solenoid ohms
They will be about 2 Ohms or there abouts if I recall, what readings are you getting?
Easiest way is just apply 12v and gnd to the solenoid and hear it clicking.

if you are hitting the pressure plate more then likely you DONT have the 323i E21 release bearing.

Standard injectors are not really good for unless you raise the fuel pressure.
Standard ignition will be fine.

Re: Overheating M50
The mapping side of things are spot on cant fault the mapping or the mapper :D The injectors were only running at 85% of duty cycle, it's not so much that they were "leaning out" they just wernt spraying like they should, To be fair, I did send the duff one back to injectortune and they replaced it...

Re: supercharged m50 e30 project
To properly run a supercharger you need to know at what charger speed you need to run it for the engine. I.e the pulley ratio between the charger and the engine. To do this properly it´s best to know the airflow/pressure character of the supercharger and then math out the ideal speed so you can then...

Re: supercharged m50 e30 project
Do you have a compressor map for that supercharger so you can succesfully run the charger at the right speeds and choose how much power you are after?
From there injectors sizes and possibly tuning choices can be suggested.

for only an additional 100hp I don´t think turboing is worth the effort and cost. Two GT35´s are for sure way to big, But given that you have two 2liter engines, two T28R´s from a SR20DET would be a nice setup I would think, reaching 600hp+ without to much trouble turbo wise. Not sure on the engine ...

That doesn´t mean you need the whole loom, the crank sensor wiring, 60-2 wheel and VR sensor + bracket can all be installed totally seperately. As long as you get shielded wire and a 3pin junior timer connector you can plug the vr sensor right in. Remember to ground the shield on one side so that yo...

I have blown the second 240 gearbox with my 328i turbo. This time around all but 5th gear all shoot to pieces. Thankfully I made it back home. I´m looking to replace it with a 100% PnP replacement box, I know the S50 Euro and 328i Z320 box are but are there any diesel boxes I can fit in there withou...

First you might want to ask yourself what is the purpose of the car? Motorway cruiser/warrior or in town cruiser ? In general there are no new engine swaps to E30´s. Just about all have been done. It´s just down to what you want your project to be, making bits, researching and solving, wiring, stand...

How to wire Motronic 3.1 to VEMS in a handy PDF guide.
Instead of writing a random post I created this document using the ETM documents for the non vanos M50. This details which wire from the loom goes where. I can do peoples ecu wiring for them for 225pounds + return shipping. I highly reccomend people use Hall effect sensors, they are totally speed independent so the ecu will be triggered on the first cycle for sure, might take a cycle on two on a VR sensor depending on gap and what not.

Where are you based? A VEMS package is 720pounds now which includes VEMS ECU Wideband sensor, wiring and connector Air temp sensor If the car is running, then depending on what you need mapped, I´d supply you with a base map for your engine, then your local tuner must be able to put numbers into fue...

Unless you are willing to do your own soldering 500pounds will not get you a fully working system with everything you need. He had a LHD car. The M20 ebay manifold doesn´t need modifiying. I somehow thought the discussion was about m20 turbos. For an M50 turbo I would reccomend picking up the LHD T4 top mount ebay manifold from the states. Get a T4 flanged turbo (Borg Warner S256 for instance) and then device a dual pipe...

The ebay holsets are not authentic Holsets, but not to take anything away from the ebay ones they have been known to work well. My friend used a HX35 on a ebay turbo manifold, running standard compressoin and 1.5bar reguarly until he bent a rod. Must have been pushing about 470-500lbs torque at that...

Where the downpipe goes depends on what your turbo manifold looks like.
