do you mean the one near the vanos solinoid ive changed that but apprently there is another one . this is going to sound stupid but is that underneath the engine ? or is it accessable without ramps or a jack

Hi there was wondering if anyone here can help iam trying to locate my crank position sensor on my 728i p reg bmw. Ive changed my cam position sensor and need to change this one now to get the car going and back up too full power i just cant seem to find it on the engine if anyone knows the location...

ive now fitted the starter in the end i got one from ecp for around 70 pounds finally put all the car back together and now the battery is knackered so ive now got to get a new battery with all the money iam spending i could of brought a cheap e30 :( but oh well hopefully it will start when the new ...

not 100% but most aren't threaded now are they i thought i would just get some nuts and washers to secure the starter to the position and the teeth on the starter are the same as the one i took off so should work shouldnt it

well the old starter is finally off :D and the new one is wired and nearly ready to go the only thing iam missing is 2 nuts as the starter i removed was threaded and the replacement isnt so another trip to the halfords is in order. Then tomorrow i will replace the manifold and hopefully the car will...

that my first port of call tomorrow or friday to go halfords and buy a set of torks spanners then hopefully will get the job done

just an update the manifold fold was removed yesterday and the car is now in pieces engine wise i have a replacement starter motor but yep you guessed it snap yesterday i broke two socket adapters trying to get the torxs nuts off.today weather was crap so hopefully sometime after new year i should h...

i think thats my next step pricing the mobile mechanics round my area south london /kent hopefully wont cost too much

thats the problem cant get the car high enough to work under it surely you must be able to remove it from the top of the engine with manifold removed if not then who knows. why do bmw make it so complicated to get to things

to be honest i begrudge paying garage prices due to the fact they more or less all the time try and rip you off or tell you you need other stuff done. I suppose ill have to remove all the manifold and all the stuff on top and access it that way then if it dont go ill firebomb it lol

well its thursday and ive offically given up i cant seem to access it from the bottom and cant see how the hell i would get to it from the top so thats it my car is fu*ked the whole issue has just given me the right hump with the thing

No more room in the seven and more smoother ride. When its able to start lol. Plus the 7 doesn't feel like a space shuttle reentering the atmosphere when iam the wrong side of 70 lol

on my old e30 i used to get 330 to 340 miles per tank. Although all thats gone out the window as i now drive a 7 series lol

I was thinking of taking a trip to the tunnel for a drive through but by the sounds of that news report the old bill will break up any organised tunnel runs

It took me 2 hours because I ve never changed a fan belt and to start with was using a Haynes manual. But at least I now know for futher reference.

That's just it there is nothing wrong at present its a good car but as said earlier just seem to be thinking something will go wrong and when it does I keep losing work. Which costs more money

Its a g reg 316i ill have to sort some pic the guy who just did the MOT said it was a solid car no rust or anything

Starting to get disheartened with the e30 now think it may be time to sell it on its a good car just need it for work and can't be keep fixing things all the time ill be sad to see it Go but needs must I suppose
