I owned that turd about twenty years ago ! I will never forget it . I was driving to work early one morning to get it washed and paedoed ready for the victim who was collecting it at 12. Alas a combination of an icy road , an E12 535 and my distinct lack of talent culminated in me heading for the s...

I'm seeing some one has pleased the painter and read a haynes manual. Why oh why do you agree to have frontwings and the frontvalance painted before they are fitted to the car. And why oh why don't you split the door hinges by just undoing the vertical 1 bolt that hold the 2 hinge halfs together. I...

Hi Folks Been lurking for a while so thought it about time I did a bit of a write up on the e30 project I’ve been working on over the winter months. Purchased the car about 18 months ago for my father....a lifelong BMW nut like me! (he’d got a bit of bad news on the health front so wanted to get him...

if there happened to be a tech1 kit on it originally you won't have the clips it will be bolts (likely well rusted on if mine were anything to go by!)

Re: has anyone owned an e21?
Had a henna red 82' 316 for about a year (sold last summer) Bought off a elderly chap in Chester...he kept it in a carpeted garage all it's life, took it to the local BMW dealer for absolutely everything...so the folder of history/invoices it came with was staggering (totalling around 12k in 20 odd ...

Chromie Sill finish - Matt or Satin?
Gents
What was the OEM finish on the sills for a chromie - matt black or satin?
Car just about ready for paint and need to know what finish is on the sills from factory (I will be stone-chipping first)?
Cheers

Diff seals & gearbox seals
Hi Folks Looking for advice on which seals I need to replace... I have an 86 325 (South African) with a factory LSD (not sure what ratio etc) and I noticed the seals on either side (leading to the driveshafts - output seals I think?) are weeping slightly. Any idea how to find out the part number so ...

if you're dying/re-colouring at all make sure to completely clean/degrease the area first with methylated spirits or similar otherwise the colour rubs or peels off in no time. It's like anything, the results depend on how well you prep the seats beforehand...if you're doing the whole seat defo remov...
