Just at a glance it looks like the perch has been fitted upside down, that is probably why they wont lower any more, makes sense to me looking at your picture.......hope this helps

I am after the main case cover gasket for a 3.91 medium case LSD, I think it is a type 188 case but I do know it has 8 bolt holes in the gasket, cheers.
