Re: m10 power upgrades
Mate, I have been been rallying a M10 engined car for 8 years now so here goes. It all depends on what you want but for starters yes you will want a 2002 engine(100bhp), preferably a tii one(130bhp). For cheap bolt on power use I would find a 121 type tii engine as the compression ratio is higher th...

Re:
Si, I never heard that before mate I would have thought with your spec engine you would be okay as long as you have 34mm chokes not 32's?? Emission sidedraughts seems to be a contradition....They all suck gallons of fuel!! ...I would get opinions first from Dellorto dealers. If you do end up getting...

Re:
Si,
sorry to hijack the thread but Jase if this engine gets me a rally win then you d'man mate

I was thinking airbox but I've got to be careful with Eligibility scrutineers especially if I start doing well. I've got to find out if they had something pre-74 like that......

Re:
You need to check mate. I'm not sure about Dellorto Carbs. I would get it running first and then get it on the rolling road. Choose one that's got experience with those carbs and let them mix and match jets and stuff. My new engine is an ex-Formula3 motor but apart from making over 200bhp I don't kn...

I'd go for a tatty 'is' aswell mate as you get the other goodies as standard aswell, mtec suspension which means bigger struts and sports seats to hold you in. You'll spend a fortune on an M10 engine for just the same power!! Keep it standard, take the lip spoiler off as it will last about one white...

Mmm, I would agree that the e46 is a far better looking car and it probably handles better as well but I think that's to do with development. My e36 feels like its on rails unless you are driving either very aggressively or at very high speeds, which then either loses your license or your life! The ...

Si, Good call on the socks best flow for dcoe's. I had mine on the rollers and it gave 143bhp at the fly and 185nm torque. One thing he did say was I was losing alot of power running short Ram pipes and shallow filters. I was dubious, but after driving it home and then ditching the filters and fitti...

M10man, That's what I want to do eventually, I'm waiting for the right one to come up second hand. If you add an extreme valve head it should be good for 180bhp while keeping the torque. Did you know the works Alpina cars had the F2 16valve heads on which gave 240bhp I think 210bhp is about the limi...

Its bloody tight in the 2002 i haven't got any pics so far. I'll try and sort some... ....looking at you pics of the empty engine bay i reckon the Jaymic manifold will fly in. However I would recommend having a look at the Fritz bits one just because of the sparkplug issue. Its a right pain in the a...

The manifold is 2 1/4" which slides nicely inside the 2.5" system. Yes it is 2.5" all the way running through a large centre box. I was then worried about regaining some back pressure due to torque loss so I cut down a over axle bend and used a 45 degree and a 30 degree to route it around the diff h...

Nice one!! About the same as mine. I got a 4into1 manifold from Jaymic which is good apart from the pipe from number 1 cylinder stops you being able to get to the spark plugs  Fritz bits do a nice Manifold though..... I made the exhaust up myself using 2.5" pipe from Jetex. There website is go...

Those HANS devices are a great design aren't they!! Simple but effective... Alot of racing drivers would be hear today if they had worn them. I hear they are quite restrictive. I don't know of any Rally drivers wearing them probably because you have to move you're head so much more due to opposite l...

Thats was a nasty one!! Hope everythings alright.. I can vouch for the strength of the e30 325i even without a cage as I did a similar thing in a country lane. I came round a fast left just a tad over the speed limit in the rain, and there was a entrance to a field which a tractor had emptied all th...
