Re: fuel pressure guage?

The stock fuel pressure regulator is set to a non adjustable 3 bar. A guage would be pointless.

Re: Braided fuel hose

Isn't there enough slack in the pipe just to pull it through, trim it and refit? Or is this too bodgy? Suppose it's worth changing as the rubber looked as if it's reached it's use-by-date. Good luck. Yes. Trouble is at the point pictured it's been suffering fatigue caused by movement. The part with...

Nice one, cheers for that, I might be able to feed it through with a bit of luck. So it's connected to the expansion tank which I presume is located behind the drivers side trim in the boot?

Cheers dudes, I think this is the one, do you reckon it's a tank out job. I think I'm going to have to drop the tank by the looks of things because space is tight. Pitty I've just filled the thing up.

Braided fuel hose

I was driving and could smell a strong fuel smell today so stopped and investigated. Under the large oval cover beneath the back seats there's a thisck braided hose connected near the fuel pump. Does anyone know where this hose goes and what's connected to the other end as it's split. I should remem...

Don't laugh but when my sport was a 2.5 and pretty much standard, I had big trouble losing a Lupo GTi on the M25 one day. Seriously quick for such a tiny car! I'd like to have a re-run now though!

For the hassle and cost it would probably be worth switching for a new (second hand) sump unless you know someone who can helicoil it cheap?

You could pick a sump up for 20 quid and a gasket for a fiver.

All the info's in Steve's post at the top mate. Stock M20 block and pistons were used.

For the money it costs to do this you're better off putting an M50B28 engine in, 24valves too!

Same one will be fine mate!

Bear in mind it will lose it's memory after being unplugged for a while when you're changing the engine so might run a bid lumpy for a while. Just take for a nice drive so it can relearn then settings and you'll be fine.

Re: what head gasket for a 325/....

It's not that bad, just time consuming. One really important thing to remember is just before you put the new gasket on, make sure that both surfaces on the head and the block are absolutely spotless and free of any oil. Use sh!t loads of carb cleaner to get those surfaces good enough to eat off. Al...

Re: borin out a m20 325

When you consider the exchange rate, about a grand is actually a pretty good price for what you're getting!

If you're talking about proper mods, you've got to realise it's gonna cost proper money. It's a bit different from bolting a K&N on and expecting the 10bhp gain they state on the box.

I'm not talking about the dipped beam, I'm talking about the low beam, i.e one click out on the headlight switch. If you disable the dim dip wiring, you won't have a low beam which is an MOT failure.

Re: what head gasket for a 325/....

I'd use nothing but a dealer gasket, not that expensive and you don't hear of so many failures like you do the gsf ones.

For a few quid extra, it's worth paying not to have to repeat such a long job and possible head cracking if the gasket fails.

Looks like it's got hydraulics too, the top pic shows it a lot higher on the suspension.
