Re: Series 1 Coupe or Hatchback
I have a 2012 118d sport edition coupe, I bought it from BMW in the summer with a 2 year warranty and 2 year BMW assist thrown in, and I must admit it can be a little down on power when accelerating away from standstill but once on the go its good. £30 p/a RFL, averages 55+mpg and a low insurance gr...
Re:
We took a while to organise the sale but that was down to work really getting in the way, however as soon as it was paid for and agreed, the fabric was posted and delivered and its now on my sport seat.

all so sad really and probably so unnecessary when all the facts do emerge, but the Fiat crossing the path of another sounds all to similar to the biker who died while doing something like 150mph on the road because he hit a car that was crossing his path. Its a 1991 car so its a facelift e30.
I believe chrome was std on most of the e30's through the to the end and the dechrome was available as an option. Certainly was in 88 when I bought my 325i SE as I chose to retain the chrome.

It depends on if you're talking e30/e28/e24 or the later e36/e46 etc. If the latter, the auto appealed to the new buyer as the auto and switchtronic gave the best of both worlds. Early cars were all down to buyers preference and if most were city types and used their cars as intended (for the commut...

a wing can be sourced closer to home I'm sure, I think I have one the same colour in my garage although the leading edge has a small dent in.
I'd keep it or sort the damage out at least, these are just not wanted today, the front grille etc are easy to get though.

agreed, those that have seen it in the metal have said the same.
I think the seller bought it for half that late last year (could be mistaken though) and is hoping to make a fast buck.

similar performance really although the B2.5 would be superior in the handling, but these are now all around 20 years old so this comparison wouldn't really stand up these days.
I'd have a B2.5, just for something out of the ordinary.

On the dealers 4 plus scheme (or whatever they're running now for the older car) the rates they charge are very close to many specialist prices, so it'll be worth it in the long run.

B9 is a European Alpina model and was available throughout Europe, the B10 was a UK only car, most were manual although a few auto's were built. But a UK B9 is a rare piece. If its a manual, it'll have a std BMW 5 speed (unless it was spec'd with a dogleg). If its the one I'm thinking of then its be...

You sure its the bulb that's gone, as if it has xenons these rarely give up (plus these can be stupidly expensive to buy), its either that ballast or the igniter that's on its way out? Re: E46 touring Vs E39 touring
I've had an e39 touring and have a 46 now and the 39 would be my choice for family bikes. Plus I'd load on the roof using BMW's bar system, very good and easy to fit when used with some after-market bike carriers. You can fit 3 bikes with ease up there if you choose the right bike rack. I've seen a ...

is yours leaking, if so its relatively easy, just fiddly. Part is expensive from BMW though and you need to get the minor parts as well as it'll make the job easier.

town use down to below 15 but out on the open you could see 30+, depends on how its driven I suppose.
The B10 can only be comparable in performance after all its a V8 v's a straight 6. Its appeal was the mix of performance and the ability to be quite economical.

Re: 635csi Overheating?
I'd go with Andy's suggestion.
It's either that or pay some bigger bills.
Chances are its something like this or a small blockage in the small bore pipe that runs from the header tank into the radiator. They tend to block leading to overheating problems.

if you get a single tone when you select reverse then they stop completely then they may just need a proper clean. If they have any dirt build up or even polish on them they'll stop working. So its worth giving them a good clean with something to take the previous polish or grime off, then have anot...
