Re: Subwoofer placement in a CAB
if you take the carpet out of the rear of the boot, you can squish a wedge shaped ported box in there. it also helps o vent the bass through into the cabin. I used to have this exact setup, with two 10" subs and a 1000w amp. worked really well, although like you say it does rattle a tad. ive current...

Re: M60 - Help get me on the road
Engine wise, check your knock sensors are the same on both looms, this is where im currently stuck as im refusing to pay £250 for four new sensors. Exhaust wise, I wouldnt waste my time trying to hack together manifolds. Ergen make great off the shelf items (What I have bought) although not cheap. O...

E38 m60 wiring loom.
Hi guys, As some of you are aware I've been slowly building an m60b44 and I need some advice on wiring looms. Has anyone done the e30 m60 swap using the e38 engine loom? They seem to be different to the other m60 looms in that they don't have the x20 connector on the head part, to connec to the body...

Re: My M62B44 build
Firstly make sure you have an m62 and not the m62 vanos engine. The canbus on the vanos engine is an absolute nightmare! Thats how I found myself in the current mess. Then I'd say make life easy for yourself, ditch the dsc and rebuild all of the chain tensioners inside. Also check the oil pump bolts...

Re: m62b44 non vanos loom
It can be done, but you need the full m60 loom and sensors etc as well as the ecu. Search for m60b44 as that's almost what you would have.
To be honest it'd be easier to deal with the ews which is easy if you have the chip and antenna etc.
Cheers Chris.

Hi all, Two questions. I've been building an M60B44 engine, however on the M60B40 loom I have I cant see how it connects to the starter motor. Could you show me some pictures of how the starter motor connects to the loom? Also if possible could someone show me the Knock sensor connectors? My loom se...

Re: Possibly a stupid question, help with last steps.
I'm really curious about where everyone has mounted their ECUs too. Im looking at an m60 winning loom and it will either need a serious extension to get it under the dash board, or ???? Maybe it could be mounted to the bulkhead, but I can't imagine it pretty or particularly weather proofed. Any one ...

Outside I believe. Hopefully it'll work as I'm ordering the manifolds today and the exhaust I've already bought. It was at a decent price so if it doesn't work I'll sort something else.

Re: Exhaust and springs.
Thanks Phil, I'm just about to order the Ergen manifolds, I like the look of their full exhaust (saw an S54 one earlier ion the week (with the volume adjuster on it too!) but cant justify the £900 price tag at the moment. The manifolds are roughly 42-45mm going to 54mm at the collectors, do you thin...

I haven't sorted the manifolds themselves but thinking about using the Ergen ones. Not sure what to do about the exhaust from there back, I don't want it too loud as its a convertible and I want to be able to cruise in it comfortably with the roof down, but it would be nice to hear the engine when y...

Re: M62tub44 screw up!
Jim I've got the ews remote antennae and chips etc, so that bits fine. More of an issue is the fact that its the can bus and Vanos engine and runs fly by wire throttle. So I'm thinking to turn it in to a 4.4litre m60. What do I need? Is it just the heads, bottom end ecu and throttle body? Am I right...

Brainzy, I don't know how similar the electric hydraulic roof is to the electric one, but I'd suspect that the horse shoe is on an electric motor, the same as the electric roof. Try playing with the micro switches under the centre of the boot lid. I had my roof disconnected for a long time, and when...

You can also use the brake "bomb" from the old 6 series. This means you can leave the mater cylinder where it normally lives, and just out the bomb in behind the front head light.
