Re: Vibration help - Propshaft Balancing? - all ideas welcom
Thanks for the replies, do you think the odd bolt would cause that much disturbance to the balancing? I didn't notice any arrows on the Guibo, but I did put it on the same way round as the one I removed. What do are the arrows for?

Re: Vibration help - Propshaft Balancing? - all ideas welcom
Yes, I bought a brand new guibo/dohnut about 2-3 weeks ago. However what I forgot to mention, was when I removed the old one, one of the bolts was loose and had rattled itself around til I could break it with my hands, so I found a matching bolt with a similar sized shank on it to replace it with, h...

Vibration help - Propshaft Balancing? - all ideas welcome
I've recently been having some vibration problems with my e30 propshaft. I think it all started when I put the rear gearbox mount plate on the wrong way round (thinking that it was symmetrical) which caused some damage to my centre mount bearing (the inner metal casing was cracked, so the propshaft ...

Which fuel line to which hole on engine?
Hi I recently replaced my entire engine in my 1990 316i E30... Now I'm just having trouble remembering which fue line goes to which hole just under the air intake... I think I have it set up correctly at the moment, with the fuel line from the fuel filter connected to the top hole? Is that correct? ...

What engines would be a straight fit in my 316i??
My engine in my 1990 316i Coupe has just given up on me, there is a 1.6 M40 engine available from a 1992 Touring, would that be a straight fit? Also there is a 1.8i available aswell, would that be a straight fit? or would it have different manifold etc etc? Also how difficult is it to perform a tran...

Re: Central Locking Deadlocked. Thermal Wire Re-Soldered!!!!
Hmm it didn't look damaged TBF. Come to think the locks only broke for the first time (what I assume to be the first time my uncle had the car for a good 10+years I don't think he had problems) recently, and it was the thermal fuse. Any further damage was caused by me soldering it back up with norma...

Thanks for the reply.
Hmm. I see. I'll check it again tomorrow. So if the ECU is responsible, maybe my new ECU from the breakers could fix the problem?

Re: Central Locking Deadlocked. Thermal Wire Re-Soldered!!!!
I see, how do you disconnect the lock motors? simply unhook it from the mechanism? or unplug it electrically? I just took the screws out so it was free to move as you said. however, that didn't help anything. I wouldn't have thought it was mechanical as all of the 3 locks (two doors+ boot) are in th...

Central Locking Deadlocked. Thermal Wire Re-Soldered!!!!!
Hey, my central locking has recently been playing up, so I took out the ECU relay from the drivers side speaker and realised the thermal cut out (I didn't know it was a Thermal Cut out wire until now) so I simply soldered it up to fix it. Everything was fine for a week or two, until I come back to m...

Oh sh!t, I remember now my central lockings broke too! So I'm guessing I'll have to fix that before being able to put petrol in... sorry for my incompetence, I haven't really drove it yet, I just assumed there was a release. Now I remember though it locks with the doors.

I've been doing some work on my e30, my drivers door card is off, however I'm 99% sure the petrol release cap wasn't on the door. Now I've totally lost it... I know this sounds like a stupid question, but where the HELL IS IT?!?!

Do any other seats fit an e30? Like e36 seats or anything??
My front drivers seat frame is snapped at the back and is therefore a MOT failure... so I want to replace my front seats with something nice, I have been looking into e30 sports seats and as I really don't like leather the cloth seats are hard to find in a decent condition and price.... I can howeve...

Probably 40mm for a good compromise of looks and ride handling, and if you don't want it to look really low, however if you want the really low, sporty look then I'm afraid it's 60mm ;)

Convertible interior? Does it fit in a coupe?
I'm looking for some new interior and have noticed quite a few convertible interiors up for sale, I was just wondering, would they fit in a 2dr coupe? I can't imagine the fronts will be any different but I was thinking maybe the rears might be due to the roof folding or something?

Re: poss wheel bearing failure diagnosis.....
does the vibration/pulse get quicker with the faster you travel as in it should get realllly fast when you're going fast? If it doesn't wobble it shouldn't be the bearing, I changed a rear bearing the other day it is a DIY job, but a bearing extractor would be handy, I assume the front should be eas...
