Re: engine swap...but which engine?

what sort of cost would i be looking at if i wanted to build a custom m10. preferably i'd keep a four pot in there. also makes sense to try and avoid conversion complications if i can.

Re: engine swap...but which engine?

Re: engine swap...but which engine?

what about the weight of the 6 pot compared to the light Is engine? i think its probably going to be one of the two. speaking to the guy that'll do it for me, an e36 engine would be a lot more work due to the mounts etc.

ha it does look a bit 2001 a space odyssey to be fair. well ill look into getting a better element instead then. you really think it wont benefit? im not worried about keeping everything OE though. not that much of a purist, just want the best performance.

i can get the custom exhaust and manifold made quite cheaply as a good friend is a blacksmith/custom bike manufacturer so thats not a problem.

will look around on e30tech as suggested.

any input from anyone is greatly appreciated and taken on board

i dont want massive amounts of power like i said earlier but definately needs something. think i definately want to stick with the M10 though.
was it hard to convert the head and pistons? did you need any other mods? what was the cost? 8)
