Re: E30 in distress, zoner in need of help!!!
Hi Guys, Thanks for the suggestions. Turns out the local garage where I was was very helpful and has got me back on the road for minimal outlay with some new parts and some steel wheels etc. No photos I'm afraid, I was a little too pissed off at the time. The car is still very dented, so I will be l...

E30 in distress, zoner in need of help!!!
Hi Guys, I'm in need of help in the Exeter area. I was driving down to Cornwall this morning for work and afraid I nodded off and hit the central reservation. I know this is very bad and I am severely pissed off with my self for getting into this situation. I don't need telling how irresponsible thi...

I have a similar issue with the speedo. Its usually the connection at the differential at the back of the car. IT gets wet and covered in mud etc, so over the years they rust.

Re: Isn't it a joke the stuff people list on eBay.........
Its just some bits of baton and some pipe lagging! I was thinking of doing somthing similar myself, so I have no issues with the item itself. It just seems silly as one can probably be made for less than the postage cost, let alone the £40 he wants for it! And for £60 you can get an actual hardtop s...

Awesome thread mate, keep up the good work. The IS is a great car, and although you have some tin worm to deal with, it will all come good. Ah ha, thats exactly the sort of response I was lookng for! I notice Speedtouch is selling upgarde chips here on the Zone. He also says clearly (all credit to him) that they are not "Zone Chips". Are the Zone Chips still availible? There's a lot of jumping to conclusions going on here. We need photos. @ Kos, how do you know it wasn't a £1000 set of coilovers 5 years ago? The car could have changed hands a few times by then, and maybe the last owner just wanted shot of it and was happy for the £250 scrap value rather than the p...

Re: My car plays the bagpipes
I'm not sure mate, hopefully one of our scandi members will be able to help you out. Is there any way you can follow where the pipe goes to? When you disconnect the pipe the revs drop because you are bleeding unmetered air into the plenum chamber, so the engine is running lean. The noise stops becau...

Re: Who to Stitch Steering wheel
I've got the Tech I wheel, but the leather is going and leaves little bacl bits on my hands. I'd like to get it refurbished, so I'd be interested to know too. I could just buy another wheel, but all of these parts are getting to 25 years old now, so the one I buy could probably be just the same or s...

Re: No Service history, what's the vote
Keep it, fix it, drive it, document everything as you go. Then when you come to sell the last couple of years of documentation will be worth far more than a dealer history in the 90's. If it is totally or pretty much rust free and the engine is running well then don't break it, either fix it or sell...

Yep I'd second that. Paint diff, paint rear beam, new subframe bushes and wishbone bushes, new flexi and rigid brake pipes - new rear wheel bearings if you can be bothered. Good opportunity to get up under the back of the car with a bit of stonechip too.

Re: ABS problem
I had this problem recently pre MoT. It was a rusted up ABS ring. To begin with the ABS was still active but would kick in at about 1mph just before I stopped at a junction, a judder being felt through the pedal as the ABS pump modulated thinking the front right was locked up. Latterly the ABS light...
