they sound rather nice once youve got it set up right, needs a good power supply with nice short runs from a close battery,i wouldnt run it with 8gauge from a battery under the bonnet

the cells are linked together to make the required 7.2v,a higher mah rating just means it lasts longer,MAH= milli amp hours

Re: Where to put speakers???
adding more speakers wont improve the quality of the sound,it will make it louder, providing you have enough power to drive them Understood. But by adding more speakers of better quality will improve the overall sound. no that will give you a muddled sound,as the post above says, one decent set of sp...

Re: Where to put speakers???
having measured up my tourer(i gather the footwells are very similar of not exactly the same)you could also easily make an adaptor plate to put 6 and a half inch speakers in the original spots, anything can fit,it all depends what you are after

Re: After alternater change
alternators dont put out much voltage at idle so you need to drive it properly to get charge, if the battery went dead and the voltage got very low then you will have damaged a cell and it wont ever hold full charge again(unless its a deep cycle battery)

thought i better get some photos of the work ive done to my tourer so far, this was bought as a 4 seater daily to let the skyline be a weekend toy.a boot big enough to have a silly stereo was a bonus i got it looking like a well used car,few dents and scratches but it matters not,the body is a lot mo...

Re: Best speakers for standard setup
it may have had 4x60 printed on it but a power output of 4x60rms would require a 20amp fuse(at 100%efficiency,class b amps like headunits and most consumer amps feature will hardly ever exceed about 60%efficiency)and thats without the power to run the rest of the internals,i think you will find that...

Re: Best speakers for standard setup
i use a pioneer p77mp in my systems
a decent deck still wont even give you 4x50rms and the average aftermarket speaker requires at least that,to get clarity you need power to drive speakers and if you dont have the appropriate power the net result = distortion and an overworked amp

Re: Best speakers for standard setup

the 4x25rms(4x50 is rubbish, you wont get that) supplied by most headunits isnt enough to drive decent aftermarket components properly,if you amp decent components that are well installed you may well find that a sub is not needed at all

theres a million speakers around now, without an amp look at speakers with high efficiency, anything under 90db will require decent power, most of the usual suspects do speakers designed to work with normal stereo power levels, alpine pioneer and kenwood all do drop in replacements for oe speakers
