Re: Touchscreen OBC
A lot of the feedback he's had - including mine - was exactly this lol. I've suggested going to a monochrome screen/orange backlight to get better contrast and simplifying the design. It's coded in C++ though, so a lot of work for him to make radical changes I think.

The guy working on my touring has been developing this and he's about ready to make it available. Maybe not for everyone but it's an interesting idea so I thought I'd share:

Looking for something in straight rot-free condition for my touring, colour doesn't matter. Ideally Notts/Leics/Derbys/Staffs but will go farther afield if you can courier it.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi
I'm looking for one of these for my touring, specifically the cover with the position symbols on it, but will take a whole assembly if it is complete and the price is reasonable. Cheers.

It might be worth having a look at your existing resistor pack before buying as they come in two different varieties. The one shown above is most common but mine is quite different to that. Not sure of the reason, possibly because my touring has aircon. The leak could also be caused by the rubber gr...

True enough.. I was just thinking a car with all the right bits would still be nice to have - even if it didn't leave the factory that way.

Re: How to know if it is a Motorsport
According to the wiki, the best visual clue for a genuine sport is the black headlining, but this isn't 100% proof on its own. It also lists the full spec and limited range of original paint and interior colours: http://www.e30zone.net/e30zonewiki/index.php/325i_Sport It seems to be implying that th...

Great site that Brian, thanks. It just gives you a code for the upholstery spec though. I goggled it and found this page: http://www.rtsauto.com/e30-seat-upholstery-interior-codes-designs-and-options-by-year/ My touring came with some correspondence from Cheyne to the original owner, and all the inf...

I'd second the Vredesteins - about £90 a corner if you can find them. Re: HELP! M20 leaking oil from the wiring loom!?
The sump gasket looks like it might be original. Is it possible the sump and main rear seal have been leaking slowly for a long time allowing it to build up in the bellhousing? The old bus has only done 76k and seems fairly well looked after - it certainly doesn't smoke, so I'm hoping this is just s...

Re: HELP! M20 leaking oil from the wiring loom!?
hmm yeh I think fixing the first leak upped the pressure causing the sump gasket to give way. There was a litre of oil in the bellhousing 8O and a slight weep from the rear main seal, plus hotspots all over the clutch adding to my woes. I think I'll replace the oil pump while the sump's off to...

Re: HELP! M20 leaking oil from the wiring loom!?
Oil pressure switch was indeed the culprit. I didn't think oil went up, but it was pumping it right up the wire into the loom. Put an oem rplacement in and all sorted - but now there is a steady drip from the back of the engine
gearbox off next ...

Re: HELP! M20 leaking oil from the wiring loom!?
Thanks guys. It was the low oil warning light in the overhead panel that came on. The lower part of the engine block was covered in oil, but above and around the loom was dry, as was the breather pipe and rocker cover. It does seem a lot to be coming out of the switch, but it seems like the best pla...

HELP! M20 leaking oil from the wiring loom!?
Hopefully the idiotic title has got someone's attention ... but its true! Over the weekend the oil pressure light came on on my touring. I checked dipstick and it was below the bottom mark. 1.5 litres later all was fine. Next day, oil pressure light was back on. Another 1.5 litres went in and by the...

Current part no is 51219061344. Apparently there are central-locking and non-central locking versions. A how-to guide here: http://e30world.com/body/BMW-E30-lock-cylinder-repair It sounds like the fiddliest bit is removing/reinstalling the lock in the door, particularly if it is a moredoor as there'...
